''Omg hackers are so annoying they ruin the game QQ''

''... but when I kill one I'm going to take all of his hacked gear and use it because that's totally legit''

I don't really get the mentality of people. If you kill a hacker, and you know his shit is hacked, just hide his body. Every time you kill a hacker, and take his equipment it's just going to get duped a million times later on by other people that may kill you and take it, or people that kill them and take it.

Do the community a favor, keep hacked gear out of DayZ.

Hardly anyone is gonna listen to ya Jack. I agree and refuse to use suspect gear. Turned down a pair of nvgs and a as 50 from a kid i work with cause i think he is duping that shit. I almost have him convinced to bring me to his camp. In time i will nuke it when it is actually gonna stay nuked.

You have my beans.

I agree, but I don't care to be honest. I have lost enough shit for a litany of bullshit reasons that I have no moral conflict with looting a hacker. Besides usually after I kill a hacker and take his gear I am teleported into the ocean within 5 minutes, so it is kind of a wash.

Yeah I was given an AS50 from a hacker...after he left I dropped it in the sea and found a AKM 5 minutes later :D

I usually take their gear and use it to shoot at zombies, once all the ammo is gone and my stress relief is complete I ditch the gun and move on....

In a game where so many miss the point and think logging out to avoid trouble is a legit tactic (which totally bypasses the risk/reward structure the game is built around) is it surprising so many take hacked gear when given the chance?

Everyone likes to moan about the inequality but as soon as they get the power their own morals go out the window... Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

NO. I DON'T AGREE WITH YOUR OPINION.

/LOCK.

In all seriousness, it's interesting to see how people interact with hackers sometimes. ... Sometimes mentally too.

why not take this step further then and don't use tents either, knowing that whatever you put in them will just dupe itself after a restart...

When I get killed by a hacker, I just brush it off and take the time to admire how much fun it is to re-arm your character. There's nothing better than finding your first winchester laying in a barn :P

We will not take/use items that don't exist in DayZ (f.e. we recently dumped a M4A1 Holo M203 SD after noticing it's not listed in the wiki). But if we find someone who cannot be 100% identified as hacker (f.e. we found a ghillie with NV, Rangefinder, M4A1 SD, PDW and ~20 clips ammo), we will use the gear just like we have found a random high-equipped bandit.

Using tents is a crutch against permadeath.

In the event that this hacking gets fixed eventually, gear will never be as prevalent as it is right now. Consider this the 'golden age' of sniper rifles. Enjoy it while it lasts. ;)

Its actually a rule for me at the moment that I don't loot bodies at all since there is a high chance I will be taking hacked or duped gear. Partly did it for the challenge to "test" the loot tables. Yep them loot tables need some major nerfs, shit is too easy to come by, even without hacks or duping.

at this point, its really no different than spawning a crate, other than it took a couple of hours to fill it first.
