Baiski AU 0 Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) Looking at 2 desktops with pretty similar specs. I wanna be able to run DayZ on high/very high. As well as Guild Wars 2 and maybe a few other high power PC games. I have a budget of around $900. I am in Australia and have bought from this store which is 5 minutes away from me. What Desktop should i go for?http://www.dcomponli.....

( (No graphics card)-http://www.dcomponli.....

I I am looking to upgrade the Graphics card on the link above but not sure whether to buy the $499 (AUD) one or $589 (AUD) one. Thoughts? Thanks, Baillie. Edited August 24, 2012 by Baiski AU
Kyzahh 127 Posted August 24, 2012 You'd be better off buying the parts and building it yourself, or getting a store to build it.

Sgt.Asshat 607 Posted August 24, 2012 Try ebay. and stick to intel, look for i5 or higher and if you're wanting a good GFX card then you'll need a good PSU lol thats where i went wrong ;)

hazedaze 89 Posted August 24, 2012 hey dudethis website has some builds, also full of all those useful information to first time builderswww.hardware-revolution.comdecide a build for your budget and go for it. Note that dayz doesnt need the best videocard on market. It only needs a good quadcore cpu (intels i5 cpu like 2500 is sufficient)also, for a GPU you dont need to spend too much. If you can grab a used 5850 1gb from ebay, you will be fine &spending less so you can upgrade some other parts like hdd to SSD. I suggest you read the link I gave you. Gibbo3771 1 Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) i5 2500z68 Mobo8gb Corsair DDR3GTX 560ti, twin frozer editionAny 650watt PSU, spend at LEAST £70. I recommend a Corsair TXBasic 320-500GB Sata harddrive£550 if you buy it from the right places.£40 for a case19 inch 1400x900 <£70, can buy a better one later or save upDecent mouse, a logitech G500 ranges from £30 to £60 depending on where you get it fromKeyboard 10-30, if you have spare cash get a G510, its an improved version of the G15 at half the cost - £69.£150 if being cheap. So £700 (1,066.63$) at its cheapest, downside is the crappy monitor. Rough prices, £5-£20 give or take on the hardware, depending where you get it from. This spec will last you a few years, it clocks well and keeps cool. But why would you want to buy a PC to play DayZ, the game is not even worth the £25 i spent to get it never mind a £700 computer. If you are not a serious gamer just stick with low crappy graphics and spend your money on a recreational sport or something, get a mountain bike if you arent a fat bastard :D.
