You can't log someone USING an illegal weapon, you can only log someone creating an illegal weapon. Therefore you can not give SOLID PROOF (as stated in the rule) that a person in position of an illegal weapon hacked, and therefore you cannot ban them.

Your wrong, your entire inventory is listed in the rpt log. Solid proof right there and its the best log to have as proof as there's a shadow copy streamed to the hive.

Apparently you have an issue with reading comprehension. If a person is on my server using a 50 cal thermal. They are exploiting. Regardless of how they came into possession of the weapon they know it is not legitimate. Therefore they get kicked......period. They then have the option to go play on any one of the 2000+ plus other servers out there. If this upsets you or anyone else too bad. I pay good money to run a server that players can come to and have a leveling playing field.

Remember it is admins like myself that prevent the likes of you getting sniped at 800 meters by a thermal 50.

Not all AS50 TWS are hacked in, there are legit ones out there. How are you going to determine which is hacked in and which is legit? Also where is your list of legit weapons? It sounds like you are just making assumptions as to which weapons are legit and which ones aren't. Look proof Eatskittens uses an as50 tws.

As our clan found once a TWS in a dead body and a member played with it for few hours, an admin did kick him for "hacked weapon" ~

He reported this server directly for breaking the rules~ I've never seen the server online again as the admin was known to give random kicks.

And I tell you, I will report every server for not obeying the rules stated by Rocket/devs. And I'm saying this as a server-owner, not a player.

I'm not sure what kind of obsession some people here have, but most people, even on DayZ, are not hardcore gamers that know every last bit, follow every last news snippet and read every last forum post or wiki page. Most people will *not* know that there isn't some specific weapon, even in the case of the AS50TWS -- not to speak of the M4 variants, AK variants or pistol variants..

The wiki and everything is also not complete, which is one of the big issues. If everyone goes by something that is not accurate then there are going to be problems.

I guess like many others I don't consider there to be different levels of cheating. Cheating has always been cheating in my book and continuing to use something you know to have been added illegally is cheating. It's black and white to me, that's not me on a power trip, I have high standards for the server we host and I want to make sure its run as fairly as possible for all the people using it. If i condone the use of illegally scripted weapons I may as well allow thunderdome and god mode.

In truth I would rather lose the server than do that. Rule 11/e, until amended still allows the removal of players cheating when backed up by log evidence. Until that rule is changed my stance remains the same.

Log evidence can be manipulated easily, which is another issue on its own. This is an alpha, its not even in beta yet, and far from release. Be more concerned with the hackers than people using weapons that don't really make much of a difference.
