Am i the only person not able to kill things because of constant lag?

Hi,

There is probably another post about this, but after looking a little while i have not seen one where many people have given their views or opinions. Maybe this thread can help the devs with what we have been experiencing.

So if i see another player which i was to shoot (because im an evil mofo) i try to shoot, but a second later he lags 2 miles away and shoots me dead.

If my friend is getting chased by zombies and asks me to take them down, i look at him and the lag makes it so it looks like he is chasing a pack of 10 zombies (lol),

i understand that servers will lag from time to time, and servers hosted in different area's will cause us to have different quality connections depending on where we live, but i experience this non stop.

So my question is, what are you guys experiencing? Similar situations? or do you guys have perfect connections majority of the time??

and tbh you only notice the lag if you are playing along side other players, the zombies do not seem to lag on their own, but i get this is because you have no other person connected to the server to reference them against.

Hope to hear from you guys on this = )

P.S i understand its an alpha, just want to hear what you guys are experiencing.

The lagg tends to vary from server to server, but it's certainly a mod problem overall. Even the better servers have performance problems ... It's very annoying when you are teaming and can't keep track of each other's locations because of the constant lagg, and it's even more annoying when you have zombies running through houses and breaking your bones.

yeah i think the main thing is when you team with friends and you cant even manage to follow each other to different locations because we are all warping across the landscape.

to be honest i love the mod and personally once these bugs are fixed (which i hope they will be) it will be the perfect game for me.

i just literally got killed by another player who i shot 10 times and saw no blood but my shots were on target, apparently he didnt get hit once lol.

but yeah iv also had zombies walk through walls and floors to kill me, which sucks, and then makes you have to run the length of the map again to meet your friends again who will yet again warp all over.

i think i have loaded up the game for the last time for now until i here some news that the devs are aware and are releasing an update for it.

Me and my buddy 4 different servers same lag issue we both purchased arma 2 co just for this mod and it was unrewarding to say the least. Sadly we had this game pirated as a torrent and ona hamachi connection no lag at all 1.6.0.1 it was great .

Constant lag is making killing pain in the ass for me too, shot some guy with my M16A2 13 times to chest from point blank range and he didn't die until he shot me twice with Makarov and killed me. After that he just hovered around for few seconds and died and when i died it said that i had 9000 blood.

Grouping with friends is pain in the ass too, this happens like every 20 seconds:

We tried 4 different servers and all lagged like hell, looting had like 1 minute delay.

i hope it will get sorted sooner rather then later because i want to keep playing, what are normal arma 2 servers like for the original game, anyone played on them???

Normal ArmA 2 servers work a bit better I believe, but that's only because the netcode is designed for that kind of play where people only join the server/game between the missions. When the server runs Dayz it keeps running the same mission infinitely and people are allowed to join and leave the game all the time as they will which is one of the things that causes server to fall behind and lag/desync starts to happen. Of course there are other causes as well, but that's one of the main things.
