The Turning Point. :(

Recommended Posts

So, I've always been an opportunist for the 4 weeks I've played this game. Any players kills I've had, it's been for gear or for something I don't have, which also includes people who have been friendly to me. Today, I was having a bad day, and I had been sniped about 4 times on the road along the coast west of Komenka. Well, to my luck, I finally spotted one of the coast campers, and managed to dodge his shots and axe him the question of if I could have his SVD Camo, which he kindly agreed to. I slowly made my way to Electro, and found a great sniping position. (No, it's not the hills near the Northern Firehouse. EVERYONE and their grandmothers go there btw.) While I was there, I decided I would go ahead and counter-snipe a small bit, just for a change of pace. The first target I found was on the hospital roof, aiming at someone. I saw his target was an unarmed survivor, in the middle of the street, being chased by a whole train of zombies. I was torn between taking out the sniper, or breaking the guy's legs in the street, just for a laugh. I decided to instead take out the sniper, then proceed to clear out a few of the zombies chasing the survivor. The guy being chased by the zombies then stopped in the street, and saluted. I know for a fact he couldn't see me, nor was he in any position to know that I wouldn't just shoot him once he stopped. But you know what? It made me feel good to help a survivor instead of capping him. Don't get me wrong, I still won't put myself in harms way and throw on a Superman cape, but if I can help out a tiny bit, I think I'll start doing that instead. (It makes me feel all tingly inside! ^_^ ) God knows we need it in these hacker/camper/KOS times.

my story is pretty much the opposite.

generally, im a nice guy. if i see you, even if your armed, i hide myself and call friendly, then i try to make sure you leave with enough food and water.

maybe i picked up extra survival gear (like matches) with the intent of giving it to unarmed people. but i never shoot first.

yesterday, i was a fresh spawn on a clan server, and i was alone. i was in the pub in elektro, and i heard AK fire. i panicked a little bit, then i decided i would just stay hidden. I didnt even hear the guy walk up the stairs, but i saw the ghillie-man walk into the room adjacent from me, and he had the AK that was shooting earlier.

i crapped my pants and hit him with a hatchet a the same time.

that was my turning point.

That was what I used to do...And still do sometimes, depending on the adrenaline level. Usually, if I see someone with a ghillie, I kill them. Not because I'm jealous or anything, but because they're an elite players, and most elite players turn to pvp for kicks. Not *all* elite players, but most. I don't like my chances with ghillie-men.

I wear my swamp-suit for one purpose: to hide from people. Count me among the "not" crowd. Wouldn't say I'm elite, though.

Anyway, it's good to see a story about someone helping another person as opposed to "lulz i shoot sum1 i r kewl." Have some beans, champ. B)
