SixTsevN 1 Posted August 22, 2012 (edited) Hey there,I was thinking about something the other day, that came to mind when I was walking up a stairwell in DayZ and I was unable to turn around with my rifle drawn.I like the way that when you have a gun that extends a fair bit away from your body, that you can't turn against a wall and must find enough room to turn with your weapon protruding.I related this game physic between DayZ and Red Orchestra 2. Like or loath Red Orchestra, they did have some innovative weapon and terrain collision physics.Could the development team make you automatically withdraw your weapon against your body, like in red orchestra? It would temporarily make you unable to fire or at least fire strait and it wouldn't sacrifice your proximity to a wall; for examples sake if you were wanting to peak around a corner of a wall, while very close to it or peak over a chest high wall.Does anyone support this sort of weapon physics integration amongst survivors and bandits? ☣BioHaze☣ 7337 Posted August 22, 2012 There is a button to, "drop your weapon". I have it bound to one of my extra mouse buttons. It's a good way to show you're friendly.I haven't tried to see of it helps in close quarters, never really occurred to me until now.... Next time i jam against a wall, I'll try it out. dsi24 227 Posted August 22, 2012 ArmA is a hard sim, not a soft sim, you're expected to do everything, including lowering your weapon in CQC.
SixTsevN 1 Posted August 22, 2012 ArmA is a hard sim, not a soft sim, you're expected to do everything, including lowering your weapon in CQC.Well DayZ is constantly being updated and made better(including the animations); just making your weapon lower when you bump into a wall, to improve mobility won't compromise the game type and overall experience. Asuka 20 Posted August 22, 2012 You're supposed to do it yourself, check your keybind, pretty sure there's a ''Lower weapon'' bind that makes it much easier to navigate indoors.
sonicrainbrony 136 Posted August 23, 2012 If you really can't lower your weapon yourself, don't play DayZ.
