Becoming a bandit PVP montage

Recommended Posts

Dude, I hope you realize there is a difference between being a bandit and being a murderer. I agree with mZLY, going to the coast and wasting the freshies that spawn doesn't make you a bandit unless you are stocking up on flashlights, bandages, and pain pills to supply an army. Thats like someone trying to start a foot race with someone whos trying to tie thier shoes. How about analyze the words bandit and murderer before you go calling yourself one or the other. I'd throw an Inigo Montoya meme at you, but I don't think it would help prove the point anymore than this paragraph.

Thank you...

If you're gonna be a bandit, at least seek out better geared players so you're killing for a reason. Getting an AR then heading back to the spawn cities to kill fresh spawns for low-tier loot is just poor form. I've got respect for the guys that put out videos of them going lone wolf to the NW airfield and taking out a few well kitted out player, even if I'm not a bandit myself.

Says who?

You sure? Because once I get a couple of murders I become a bandit.

Says the Oxford English Dictionary...

noun (plural bandits or banditti /banˈdiːti/)

a robber or outlaw belonging to a gang and typically operating in an isolated or lawless area:

And because that's the most logical way to measure humanity statistically in-game. How else would the game decide who gets a bandit skin and who gets a survivor or hero skin?

Umm... Yeah? XD Dude, look it up in the dictionary (you have the internet so look it up there too) and the definitions of a bandit and murderer are pretty far apart. If you kill other players on this game for sport, whether they had good stuff or not, it is murder. If you go around killing the other players that stand a chance and don't take their stuff, thats pretty much murder too. But if you are going after other players to survive, whether they have a weapon or not (because most of the time when I spawn fresh, I get a ton of food and meds before I find a weapon) and taking their supplies, then that is what is considered being a bandit. I'm hoping that in the future, they script the game to better differentiate the two terms. Just because you kill people in the game it doesn't make you a bandit. It's your intentions that make you a bandit.

Nobody is getting mad bro. I personally don't care how people play. Some people will be good. some people will ride the line. some people will be straight up nasty. It's not about the gameplay. You wasted some people. good for you. On a technicality, it's how you earned your bandit status. But judging on how you were handling yourself, In my own honest opinion, you are more of a murderer than a bandit. Now, if you were to have included gameplay of you checking their bodies for loot and what not, then I might see things in a different light, but going off of what you have shown in the video, you are a murderer in my eyes.

Then why, once I get 5 murders, do I become a bandit, and not a "murderer"? Why do I get "bandit kills" and not "murderer kills"?

Herpderp.

Your answer lies within your question guy. Obviously you are using the wrong terms. If you get 5 "murders" you get 5 "murders" meaning you killed someone who had some humanity. When you get 5 "bandit kills" you are killing people with negative humanity and who have "bandit" status. That bandit status is the only negative label in this game if you didn't know. When I say "murderer" and "bandit" I'm referring to you through your intentions.

Why are people so mad?? hahah this is how the game was made to be played.

Come on, do you see any CAPS LOCK RAGE here?

And this isn't 'how the game was made to be played', it's a sandbox game meaning there is no objective. If you devote your game to screwing over other people when it doesn't benefit you in any way then you are a douche. All you did in that video was troll new players, at least go to the airfield or stary and play with the big boys...

Well, what can I say..

bad players are bad and you can't fix them all.

I feel sorry for all of the people trying to reason with OP and co. You just can't fix them. Besides, they aren't really hurting anybody.. most of these kills will simply re-spawn and walk away with little harm done. One day OP and co. will realize why they are wrong but I really don't think it's today. They have to grow up a bit.

Anyways,

Video was maybe 3/10. Music was bad and completely out of context (kid likely saw it in griefing video and wanted to be cool too). All kills were boring and bring nothing to dayZ players.. really.. then again I didn't watch it all because it seemed pointless..

Bandits are meant to have a modicum of respect - Ever heard of the phrase, "Honour among Theives"? As a bandit (and I can't be such a bad one as I'm currently on day 41) who I'd consider myself practically geared for any scenario, I never pick on "easy" or "Cheap" kills. Why? It's a waste of ammo, and a waste of time. Why murder someone who's got nothing for you to gain? Make the game a challenge for yourself, and kill something that's a challenge.

I find it extremely hard to believe you are on day 41. Probably on day 1 if anything.

You kill on sight. There is no other option unless you know the other player is a friendly. IE: You know him in real life, or have been Steam/PC friends for life.

Because you know that one player. You let by. Cause he had nothing. Yeah that same one player will find something. And when he does. You will die. Because you didn't kill that one player. You let him live. Live to kill another day.

So the idea of killing a freshly spawned player as bad, or unskilled. Is idiotic at best.

Judging by the game play you posted, you will always be labeled as a murderer no matter how buggy your stats are :D

Says who?

I thought the phrase was "There's no honour among thieves".

Says the experienced bandit,

everyone knows bandits have the best gear. (In General, ofcourse there are very well equipped friendly's)

So you hunt bandits.

I'd rather have the title as murder. it sounds better

'Being a bandit' does not include hunting noobs in starter towns. That comes under 'being a shitbag'. Move on to the north and make a video of that. If respect is what you were aiming for here, you lose.

You make a good point. Killing the unarmed or sparing his life is your choice. It may later save your life. Staying in that area though, and preying on fresh spawns simply to add +1 to your murders, is a pathetic attempt at banditry indeed..

Murdering freshies isn't the only way to accumulate murders I hope you know. Not everyone that moves in land is a bandit, so why not move further up and challenge yourself instead of wasting ammuntion?
