NPC Military Kill Groups.

Recommended Posts

Imagine NPC convoys going down roads in highly contested areas killing zombies and players alike. This could be a source for really high end transportation and weapons for players but require alot of planning and firepower to execute.

I think it would make the world alot more dynamic.

Too easy to obtain gear from them. All you need is a sniper rifle and you can easily pick them all off and then have a bunch of high end guns, ammunition, and transportation.

I think this would be a great idea. Military NPC's could be added at a few pre-existing military instillation's as a home base. Then convoys could visit nearby villages in order to perform purges of all living things. For better equipped players this would give them something to work up to and the less equipped could wait out the convoys and loot towns with fewer zed's.

I would like it, but they wouldnt be able to drop weapons otherwise high tier loot would be too simple. Transport on the other end, would be nice. A slim chance there being vehicles though.

I feel like having them as a faction means they would have to drop gear of some kind. I think it would have to depend on the military groups being hard enough to kill.

Perhaps it could be a squad rolling with a stryker or some APC. That way they can easily counter snipers, and it makes the AT4 have a real use. If you got lucky the AT4 would kill dat crew and you could take the APC yourself :D

I already suggested this but my thread got erased. I definitely would love this though.

In my opinion, people are trying to turn this into a military mod with some zombies around, instead of a zombie apoc mod, with the occasional military loot left over.

People driving tanks, APC's, humvee's, and other armored equipment would be absurd. If you think player killing is bad now, add tanks and heavy armor...Zeds won't even be a threat...they barely are now.

There is a simple fix, and that is that your average joe doesn't know how to drive an APC/tanks/what-have-you. I'm sure something could be made so that players can't drive these specific military vehicle, therefor allowing their existence to be possible without unbalancing the game.

Since they would be so hard to kill, they might have some top tier loot on the vehicle itself. BUT, if you just blow up the vehicle, no loot for you. This is where the AT4 comes in. There's always the chance that an AT4 will disable a vehicle, either killing the crew or making them dismount. This ensures that the chance of getting the loot is small and actually having the chance for there to be a chance is small as well.

Also, all good zombie stories and such have a much bigger human element than the zombies themselves. I'm not trying to take away from the 'alone' aspect of the game, but adding some faceless faction of merciless killers heightens that feeling of being alone and everything being out to get you.

Just my two cents.

The whole point of the mod, from what Rocket has said, is that the survivor groups are the only people left and are immune to the disease.

There would be no other AI (military or other) immune players, it would go against the system that he's built.

You actually can script vehicles to be un-enterable. In fact, many vanilla missions already do this. This could work I think.

I think it's up to Rocket to decide that.
