On the main page the is leaderboards but they are never up.

Yes, they are. Considering how its easy to farm/duplicate loot for equipment. Coastal Spawners can kill people to rack up kills with little or no effort, Alt-F4ing still works, hacking is still rampant, and overall the game is in its Alpha stages. A Leaderboard does nothing beneficial to the current game.

DayZ Staff have a thread that you can request your stats or stats of other players. You can compare your standing that way.

yea tbh although i see whysome people may want the leaderboard, i really think it should be left out>

promotes an ego driven statchasing gameplay that definately influences decisions in-game. Too many peeps i think hoped theyd have a chance at getting on the highest kills count :S
