This is re-written...I want to know if there are any technical consequences for leaving the map, and crossing the boarders of it.I specifically want to know if moving vehicles across the boarder, and camping out (Saving the vehicles) will be followed by the vehicles disappearing or perhaps my character dying.I've heard of helicopter pilots flying out past the map boarders and setting up an 'unreachable' base. But before I do this myself I just want to confirm that there's no technical issues with it.It's DayZ, I like my truck, and I'm paranoid. :D[/quote']Going off prior experience, you'll be fine, however, to someone with a backpack full of food and water, it's not a matter of if, but when your vehicle is discovered and taken, as there is no cover, it's just a matter of looking, and if they have a heli... well, not safe. However, the amount of people who would go through such a thing for a vehicle is miniscule, you'll be safe for the most part, except from people with vehicles looking for more. You're basically parking a vehicle right out in the open when parking off map.Plus, the further you take a vehicle off map, the longer it takes to actually get back on.Off map would be one of the last places I'd ever hide a vehicle. I thought that was a river or something...It's a little pond about 1k North of the dam, off the top of the map. You cannot see the surface water, only a line round the very outside of it.
