An alpha version exists to test features. If you don't implement said features, you can't really test them, can you?

I totally support this. Let's give it a shot. May I add, what I read on the DayZ wiki main page - "You are an alpha tester. You are not here to have fun.".

way to early for dogs. They need to fix hacking and graphical glitches before moving forward adding something else to the game. Fix whats broken and then you can concentrate on improving the game !!

I say get the dogs in , the quicker their in the better, it means longer testing of their mechanics, which means the dogs in the standalone will be fully tested and ready to go.

As for it making the game easier , are you mad, first of all, it will make the player easier to spot, you might be in a bush but your dogs probably not gona sit exactly where you want, it will wander around and he said it wont just stay until you have had it for a while and trained it and made it loyal.

It will be valuable in hunting animals without having to waste a round or 5 on a cows face.

And as people say about the zombies, im sure iv read that rocket is planning on adding lots of new zombie types, so thats all in the works, dont hate on the dogs, if you dont like them dont tame one.

My 2 cents is that it is always good to get any feature in early to test. It will help with deciding which features should be reworked, left alone or thrown out.

I really only see 1 practical use for dogs which is "guard dog" for a camp site if they were dangerous enough. As for less practical uses, some players might just get dogs to reduce paranoa if they play alone a lot or see it as a challange to see how long they can keep it alive. Still something the expands gameplay.

At the moment game is getting reduced to gear out and hunt humans b/c nothing else to do after you have gear.
