Met a dog in DayZ today. He gave me all the best gear.hack?

So I was on green mountian today and killed some zeds when suddenly a dog appeared out of nowhere, more zeds came so I legged it and I loved that the dog followed me. when I got to the woods I tried to interact with the dog but when he stopped he started dropping a LOT of gear. He dropped a silenced UZI and a tonne of ammo along with a high powered sniper rifle with a night time scope on it (sort of blue). He dropped a bunch of meat,bandages,tins of food,auto injectors, GPS,Map,entrenching too,toolbox,NVGs,Range finder etc. etc.

In other words this dog gave me almost all the best gear in the game except a ghillie suit and when I was taking gear he ran away. So I trotted along nicely with my new overpowered guns and suddenly the dog came back dropping even MORE gear. It was here that I aborted and disconnected in case there was hacking or something going on. Im almost afraid to use the guns a lot now in case I get banned, I took down 3 zeds with them so far though.

Anyone else have this happen yet? I knew dogs were being introduced but this was just crazy

You know cheaters sometimes turn people into cows or other animals, maybe the dog was the cheater and he spawned all that gear in front of you, just for the lulz.

If I remember correctly the rifle he gave me was the AS50. Here is a pic of the dog just as he started spawning gear

it is a cheater, if it was an as50 with a night scope, it was an AS50 TWS, which is not in the game currently

It is a hacker. It's a fairly common thing for hackers now to disguise themselves as animals (rabbits, cows, chickens, though I've never seen a dog before) and then go around and spawn things in as well as help/harass random players. Also, if you're seeing things spawning in places they shouldn't, especially high level gear, then it's hacked.

I have never seen a dog in the game day z. My guess is that its a hacker. Who knows tho, I'm kind of new to the game.

i doubt you'll get banned. Other players might report you tho. You know the best thing to do, nobody has to say it.

It could have been a dude that got turned into a dog by a hacker and gave up although highly unlikely and you cant get banned for using hacked guns only for spawning them.

some servers are banning people that pick up items from hacked ammo crates n whatnot. be careful, just avoid ammo crates period.

Yes, that's how it will be in 1.7.3. You won't have to run to your tent that respawned your as50/nvg/rangefinder, you just wait on the beach until a dog brings them to you.
