I finally fixed my hung loading screens

Recommended Posts

1. Launch SixLauncher, make sure you are fully updated by hitting the big orange button

2. Download and install DayZ Commander: http://www.dayzcommander.com/

3. Start DayZ Commander and look to the top right corner of the program, select the versions button

4. Make sure your Arma II version is up to date by selecting the latest version (default) from the drop down menu and hitting install

5. Make sure your DayZ version is up to date

6. Try joining a game

Not really sure if this common knowledge or not, but I didn't know anything about it until last night

Wow how long took it you to figure out this steps?

No as long as it has taken you to figure out basic grammar and sentence structure by the looks of it.

All you need to do is download the latest DayZ alpha patch from the site, updating the ARMA II patch is great, but not always needed.

The hung Loading screen is only due joining a server that doesn't have the same DayZ version as you, or if you DayZ version isn't compatible with your current ARMA II patch.

..and for crying out load, don't use Six-Update/Six-Launcher. DayZ commander also has problems.

I use the DayZ commander shortcut that was placed on my desktop, it starts the game then i join servers from inside the game. This goes A LOT faster as you don’t have restart your game everytime you try to join a server, which we all know can take a bit of a while to do.

Seems like people these days can't figure out how to keep their game up-to-date, even with programs like DayZ Commander and Six Launcher they fail to install the latest patches

I'm still using ArmA II Launcher v1.4.0 and everything runs fine

All you have to do is keep the latest DayZ and Beta patch installed

not really, you just need to make sure your patch number matches the server's patch number as .4 doesn't have the current bugs with tents n skins.

dayz cmdr really excels at this, as it gives you that info easily and the ability to go back to .4.

also make sure you verify the integrity of your files throuh steam with each patch!
