Bad FPS around cities

My FPS drops to 35 FPS in big cities on mid high settings 1920x1080. Should I look for problems in my system or its just a game?

It's the game. I also get the same performance with a GTX 670 FTW as does just about everyone.

I'm using an ASUS G60J from 3 years ago,

I7 1.6Ghz

260M vid card

8gig ram

My normal @720 ( I play on my tv 15 feet away on the couch ) is around 30FPS and its fine for me! on very low settings :(. (needs new pc)

I get the same. Has to do with the server/lag I think.

cities are always terrible for fps. look towards a city 30 fps, look the other way up to 50 -.- the server can also affect your fps as well. on some servers i join i get a whopping 10 fps. i join another, exactly the same spot. 50+ fps xD

the server des play a very important role in DayZ - unfortunately -

on an empty server FPS are way better just try it go to cherno in crowded server and then join an empty server

my experience is that on an empty I have +10-20FPS everywhere

Running on High settings, shadows High, AA in the middle, vsync off. Im having a constant 60+ fps, maybe it drops down to 40-50ish when theres alot of smokegrenades and shit in the cities. I never notice any hint of lag in Cherno nor Elektro.

Servers are a big aspect in lag in Day Z, I never seem to lag in underpopulated servers.

I get 60 fps everywhere but cities, where I get 45-60

I don't know much about nvidia cards, but your setup should be better than mine.
