Worth it?

Recommended Posts

I just recently got a new pc. I can now run dayZ :D

I was wondering if it worth buying Arma II and the add-on thing you need to play dayz? Because I heard they are releasing a stand alone version soon :s

So do you think that I should buy it now or wait for the stand alone? Also is Arma II any good on its's own?

nobody can answer this dude.

Your going to have 50% of them going FUCK DAYZ ITS A FAIL GAME (when its a mod...in alpha stage...and they bitch about every fucking thing they can)

You'll then have 49% of players going BEST FUCKING GAME EVER!!!!!! OMGZ BUY IT NOW OR YOU WILL DIE.

Then you will have 1% telling you they dont give a fuck what you do.

And ultimately? You will have 100% of players responding with a Trollish reply.

*personal ------>>OPINION<<------*

DayZ is great. Get it if you can afford it. If you dont end up liking it? Deal with it. you are buying a game for a mod afterall

(Arma2 is great on its own)

Hi BAMSHOT,

Might be worth waiting for stand-a-lone as it will be using the ARMA 3 engine I think and no doubt Nvidea/other suppliers will bring a special Graphics card out for it...

Also ARMA is a solid game on its own anyway :)

On a side note - Brachra...you are as bad as the trolls for posting that reply...

I personally loved Arma2 as a game. It has it's issues but if you like military sims it's one of the best out there. For your money you also get access to DayZ and loads of other mods too. Some of them are of a very professional standard.

If money's tight and you don't want to make multiple puchases then it might be worth your while just waiting for Arma 3 and the DayZ standalone and then taking your pick. Also, the Arma 3 engine should be much better optimised so if you can run Arma2 then you shouldn't have many issues running Arma3 or the DayZ standalone.

Rocket said at the end of the working year

Meaning Sept 30th at the earliest.

but as the post above me said, Probably oct/nov

THEN AGAIN-- hes releasing the standalone in ALPHA stage (with Minecraft model) i.e. Buy at low price, play through alpha/beta/release. And laugh at those who have to pay full price because they wouldnt pay alpha costs.

so it very well could be sept 30th/oct 1st

Arma2 is a good game by its self and i think 30 bucks is a good price for it. I play arma 2 often and for buying it now is ur opinion if ur willing to, Say be a beta tester for the game then yes get it but if u want a solid game and u hate glitches and bugs that will be eventually worked out then wait for the alpha stand alone that might be even worse when the game is in alpha. So u choose

I hate to say but I am going to miss the bugs in the final game lol..

Anyway, it's really your decision and I would suggest you buy Arma 2 just because it's arma 2 itself. I originally bought arma for Day z and realized that arma is just as fun.

Day z is riddled with bugs and issues that can get the best of anyone so if you can afford to buy arma then by all means do it.

If you can't, it would be better to wait for the standalone itself.
