Team up / Join up threads

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

Was just thinking after reading another team up type post, maybe these could be arranged into some kind of geographical order or even based on demography.

There seems to be so many posts with players wanting to team up and often there is no way of knowing where they are located or even how old they are. More often than not it seems people are reluctant to give their location in their profile which makes it a difficult decision weather to band together based on timezone or ping. I have accepted invites by other players but have yet to create any kind of lasting in-game camaraderie. They have either been on the opposite side of the globe and/or incompatible in the age department. It would be nice if these types of posts could be arranged on the forum in such a way they could be easily filtered (mainly by geographic location). Just a suggestion, any thoughts? :)

I've heard some rumors and seen some mockups for a profile system within the DayZ website where you can track your own statistics and of others. (like avarage survival time, zombies killed, survivors killed, favorite weapon, etc.)

I hope, and hopefully the devs will read this, that they'll include a clan/group/friend option to this so we can keep track of each other and invite others to our groups. This way you can simply create a group page (either open/closed, public/private) with some basic information about the group, and by adding generic information at your own profile (timezone, country, languages spoken) you can match other players when you're looking for a group.

And with the addition of the squad.xml feature without the ArmA engine, it's possible to make this visible in-game too.

But for now, all I want to know:

- location: country + state (if needed)

- timezone: almost same as country, but useful for easy checking

- languages spoken: I hope we all speak english, but native language might be useful too

- day/time available: nothing is worse then grouping without able to play with eachother

- experience: short description of you experience in DayZ and ArmA2

When making a Thread asking for other players nothing could be more simple than...

Title.

Looking for Team + English / German / Kiwi / US / €urope / Alien....or what ever youl like.

+ in the correct place.

We have talked about this problem.

You obviously aren't referring to my post, or if you are you clearly didn't read it thoroughly. I think judging by Grezvanys' second paragraph of his/her reply he/she got the point I was making. I thought being a part of the "Dayz forum team" you would have better reading comprehension skills.
