starter weapon

I think the Makarov should be brought back as a starter weapon, starting without a weapon is a pain and in my opinion ruins the experiance. Besides it is alot more realistic that you would have some kind of weapon with you when you are trying to survive.

No, it is honestly not that hard to find a weapon. It takes me maybe about 10-30 minutes after respawning to find myself a weapon unless i meet other survivors along the way who either block my route of travel by shooting his gun toward my direction or i meet up with a friend.

I used to think that.... but now I can get "fully geared" in 30 minutes or less. By fully geared I mean I am able to defend myself from zombies and have a sporting chance at any pvp encounter besides a head shot from a treeline that I didn't see coming.

why people are so rude? this is a good suggestion, but instead of a makarov player should start with 2 meters long pink dildo.

You already have a weapon: your brain. Not Rocket's fault if you can't use it.

Half of the people here started with Makarovs that did 2300 damage when they first started playing and now they have tents so they don't even remember what spawning without loot even means. And now they're telling you you're whiny because they have maps to all of the loot in the game and tents full of loot on every server. So, ignore them.

They're not very smart or empathetic to how the game actually plays right now because the world revolves around them and they can't tell the difference between how hard it is to actually play the game as a new player and how hard it is to play the game as a veteran with a bunch of maps someone drew of loot locations and spawn percentages.

That said, Rocket is right about one thing. You need to think about why you want the game mechanics changed, what it would accomplish, and why you're arguing for it. Simply saying it's "annoying" to start out without a weapon is not a very good argument. The game is supposed to be difficult. Now, here are some decent reasons why you might think it's fair to start with a weapon of some sort.

  1. Weapons aren't spawning anywhere near me in the starter locations. This makes risking your life often fruitless and monotonous. Also, unrealistic since rural areas should be filled with hatchets and crowbars.
  2. Weapons only seem to spawn in high volume areas like Cherno and Elektro filled with player killers who are already pointlessly overgeared and pick off new players instantly just for fun. So the game becomes an unchallenging shooting gallery for veterans and a crucible/gauntlet/meat grinder for new players above and beyond the actual difficulty of the game.

Mate, I'm a lone wolf player, carrying a tent right now but I haven't got any set up in any server, and I don't struggle at all...

You can have literally EVERYTHING other than a high-tier weapon if Cherno is kind to you. Just run in with a 'nothing to lose' attitude, hit the supermarket, church, fire station, apartments and hospital and with a little luck you're set. If not head to Elektro and do the same then GTFO and head north before your luck runs out. If you die while looting then unlucky, switch servers and try again...

In my current life I spawned near Balota, found an M16 w/ 203 there, went to Cherno and left with all tools, 2 ghillies, too many med supplies and enough food/water bottles to keep me going til I managed to hunt some animals...

The game is designed to be difficult when you're starting out, but to an experienced player it's currently far too easy. That's partly why there's so much deathmatching going on...
