I'm thinking everyone took this out of context. What I'm thinking he meant was, yer wife is hot, you have a beautiful child, therefor I dont feel sorry for you because you have a great life. Just a guess, but I dont think he meant it hatefully.

Unless you're getting an extremely expensive laptop MEANT for gaming. You won't be able to run Arma properly. Desktops will always come out ahead for gaming. It'll be cheaper buying parts and putting it together also rather than buying a whole rig premade (Like Alienware)

I have a pretty weak laptop, AMD Phenom II, (tricore 2.1Ghz), 4gb mem, 1gb vram on a ATI 5470 and it runs Dayz with all settings turned down. It's ugly and I try not to engage 'busy' areas when playing off it, but it satisfies the fix when need be.

Crank everything down, then launch arma 2, go to task manager and right click arma2ao.exe and set priority to high. Not sure if that helps all that much, but give it a shot . I also noticed that some servers I just lag hardcore on...well, until I moved from six launcher to dayz commander and updated arma and dayz to 1.7.2.5...havent had lag/performance issues since.

if you want to play this game so badly, then why would you buy a laptop instead of a desktop? Gaming laptops yet are so freaking expensive

Well to OP if you are looking for a good gaming laptop have look at them http://eurocom.com/ for sure will run DayZ in max settings , i play Arma and BF3 with no problems at all.

Better to just build a nice desktop.
