Forum ambiguity.

Recommended Posts

When I first came to the forums I noticed with delight that the forums were segregated by play style, the bandits have the campfire, and the survivors have the headquarters. However, survivor HQ has quickly descended into a "looking to trade"/ "looking for group"/"join my clan"/ complain and moan forum wall. Bandit campfire is used a bit more as intended however, it's no use when all the survivors just go to the bandit campfire to complain, moan, care bear, and get trolled. We don't want you. If you don't like bandits, or disagree with aggressive pvp orientated play-styles then just keep your furry rainbow en-crested stomach in survivor HQ.

That is all. Go about your day/night.

Both sections seem to mostly be used correctly to be fair, I see just as many looking for clan, recruiting threads etc in the bandit forums.

It makes sense that there would be more people looking to trade in the survivor section, I see many other threads with taxi services, medical assistance and a bunch of other things you would expect to see there too.

I don't see huge numbers of survivors in the bandit area complaining, I'm sure there are some though, ignore them, these people should play a different game if they can't handle the PvP aspect, without it, DayZ would become incredibly boring since the zombies aren't even a significant threat.

I don't play as a bandit at all either, this is a survivors/hero point of view, if the people complaining can't learn from their past deaths then they will never improve at the game.

There is also the matter that a large number of newer players will head directly to post in whatever section they feel will get high traffic. That isn't necessarily wrong but there certainly may be better places to put those sorts of questions.

Most recruitment posts get redirected to the Bandit/Survivor sections anyway, the majority going into the Survivors section due to more communities being Survivor based.

Surely some of the posts in the Bandit campfire are legitimate complaints? Let them express their concerns. Then feel free to bash their ideals. No need to troll. Just help them realize the current state of affairs so they can be better informed in the future.

What is the point in having discussions if you can't see more than one point of view?

I don't think it is a matter of ambiguous forums but more the fact that some people choose to post wherever?

I really wish there was a separate forum for "looking for clan" or "looking for group". sure it would reduce the number of posts in this forum by quite a bit, but it would also weed out the useless crap that most readers won't even touch.
