miket 92 Posted August 15, 2012 I've been thinking for a while that bloodbags shouldn't restore a player to full health.I'm thinking that they should restore somewhere between 3,000 and 4,000 blood, requiring 3 to 4 bags to fully restore a player. My reasoning behind this is three things.Firstly, in a fire-fight between two groups, its very easy to restore an injured team-mate to full health with only a few moments to bloodbag them.My second reason is that as it stands bloodbags are too abundant. At the moment my clan and I are using bloodbags when people are around 9,000 blood, simply because we always end up with more bloodbags than we can carry. My third reason is that the ability to simply bandage someone then bloodbag them to restore them to full health and full working order, even from 1 blood, is a little too easy.Atleast if they required 3-4 bloodbags for full health, they'd still have a chance of passing out even after receiving a bloodbag from extreme low health. So either cut the amount of blood that blood bags restore, or cut their spawn rate down to a lower level to make them much more valuable. Bobcomss 189 Posted August 15, 2012 I agree with both statements, also to be super realistic blood types would be a major issue lol...but that's a bit ott lol :DAJ
Gogster (DayZ) 626 Posted August 15, 2012 Seems sensible, not sure what support you'll get as some people think the game is pretty tough as it is.
wordplayuk@gmail.com 101 Posted August 15, 2012 maybe 6000. since you have to be in a group to use them anyway it's no disadvantage to the lone survivors
bazbake 456 Posted August 15, 2012 maybe 6000. since you have to be in a group to use them anyway it's no disadvantage to the lone survivorsAll the more reason to nerf them, isn't it? Harder to survive alone before we start adding in blood bags.
miket 92 Posted August 15, 2012 All the more reason to nerf them, isn't it? Harder to survive alone before we start adding in blood bags. You make a good point. Suriving alone: 800 blood per meat. So 6400 per cow, and you still have to find a hunting knife and way to cook the meat. Also takes you time to find an animal, gut it, find a cooking spot (either a hatchet and some matches, or a barrel fire). Two people surviving together: Find a blood bag. Restore full health in about 4 seconds.Reducing the amount a bloodbag restores would definitely even the odds a little.
DJT (DayZ) 3 Posted August 15, 2012 I don't agree with this idea... There are enough ways to get injured and/or die in this game and the penalties for death are about extreme as they can get (lose everything and possibly have a nice hour long run back to wherever you died, plus whatever time you spend getting basic gear before you make the trip). There is also a high risk in securing blood bags, due to the select places they spawn. I don't know, this just sounds like more tedious inventory management and stumbling around the clunky UI trying to heal up your squad while not accidentally shooting them in the face ;)If anything were to be changed regarding health and healing items, I would much rather have them add a way for solo players to use blood bags on themselves, perhaps for a reduced amount (like 6,000 max, instead of 12,000). It seems to be really common for zombies to get a one-shot bleed on people and this really takes its toll on a solo player who is trying to scavenge for items... especially in the day time. The downside of doing this, however, would be possible balance issues during group encounters.

miket 92 Posted August 15, 2012 Weps do to much dmg to newrf blood bag, pfff noob get a lifeGo back to CoD if you think weapons do too much damage in this game.
That Guy (DayZ) 46 Posted August 16, 2012 Weps do to much dmg to newrf blood bag, pfff noob get a lifeThis is a survival simulator, if you want to be able to take 3 clips of bullets go play halo or CoD, weapons are just fine. as others have said there is alot of ways to lose blood in this game that are out of your control, so until most of the glitches and bugs are smoothed out I say keep the blood bags for full health. After that, I'm all for it.
schrapple 119 Posted August 16, 2012 I think instant healing goes against everything the game is about, if you get injured it should take time to recover and you should be disabled in some way until you have recovered. It would also help with the insane PvP at the moment, you're not going to pick a fight that will cause you to suffer even if you do win. Currently you can get shot several times, get a blood bag and 5 seconds later you're good. If getting shot meant you had to crawl for the next 30 minutes people wouldn't be so trigger happy. arma2eraseditself 22 Posted August 16, 2012 What I would really like to see is dialysis machines in the hospitals. All hospitals have on-sight generators (unless your in Buttf**k, Kentucky) AND battery power. So tbh a working dialysis machine running off reserve power isnt too far of a fetch. This should take a minute or two but would allow a lone wolf player (me) the ability to use blood bags on themselves
