I also think tents locking not realistic.

However this may work :

We need to add safe item, safe can be only hauled by vehicle, opened by 12 char password or cracked by specialist in lock-picking. You can become an expert in locksmithing after reading say 10 books on it.

Btw people that are proposing that the password can be 'lockpicked' have obviously never played a game with sovereignty.

Passwords are obtained with spies. If passwords and locks could be picked or hacked, then everyone would just go around hacking safes and picking locks obtaining uber gear.

of course the bigger lock - the more people shows up to break it, that's the whole purpose of the safe - to temporarily secure your items.

For more "secure" option there should be shovel and deep forest.

Security over obscurity was always one of my favorite methods.

It would be good idea to passwording the tents in this time we are not allowed to make camps into the forest this mean we have to camp at open fields => we must be 24/7 online watching for our tents to be secure.
