SmashT 10907 Posted August 15, 2012 (edited) Already planned for standalone at some point, it's probably the best way to prevent loot inflation. Will be some way a way though. Edited August 15, 2012 by smasht_AU

antiskub2.0 17 Posted August 15, 2012 In my mind, I see this increasing the value of the Ak-47, seeing how so much of its long standing popularity comes with how resilient it is in harsh conditions. :) This should make choosing weapons a whole lot more interesting. Sure, you could take the gun with the most dmg, or a thermal scope, but does it jam up constantly? Will it be useless if you get it wet or if you don't clean it every day? If I were designing the feature, I'd make the in-game guns relative to their real life counter parts, without adding any kind of stats system you can read by looking at the gun. In this way, if you are the kind of person who is knowledgeable about fire arms in real life, you can carry that knowledge into game.

bazbake 456 Posted August 15, 2012 Rocket said he wanted real-world skills the players have to reward you in the game. Awareness of gun performance should be at the top of that list. Which...means they really need a working damage table based off of real-world trauma studies and run as fast as they can from Arma II's nonsense as soon as they can separate the damage tables from the Arma code.http://ammo.ar15.com/project/Fackler_Articles/effects_of_small_arms.pdfhttp://www.rkba.org/research/fackler/wrong.pdfhttp://www.firearmstactical.com/pdf/fbi-hwfe.pdfhttp://www.rathcoombe.net/sci-tech/ballistics/myths.html#wli
