theneonirvana 5 Posted August 15, 2012 ok... ive said it to enough people as well....for instance... you get lost in the northern part and cant find your direction... you have 3 people in your team... and two of you are looking at the chubby guy and licking your lips....or.... you just spawned your struggling to get food and water to head north... and you see this nice blond girl with a patrol pack walking along with wat looks like very nice and lean legs that would go great on a kabob....So you shoot her... and eat her cheeks, cuz there the sweatest part i hear.... and store her legs and arms in your pack.... take the coke and water bottle she had and start heading north....completly eleminating the need to go look for pork or beef... or lamb/goat lol.......this... would probably happen when supplies became picked and scarce....People are the best game to hunt..... why cant i eat them too
Banicks 55 Posted August 15, 2012 (edited) If cannibalism enters the game it will be banned in NZ and Australia. NZ being Rocket's country of origin, and Australia being a large portion of the oceanic market. It won't see retail. Not to mention the realism effects that would need to be added: shaking, diseases, laughing, and so on. All documented side effects of long-term cannibalism. Edited August 15, 2012 by Banicks
theneonirvana 5 Posted August 15, 2012 ooo love the aspect your put in of side effects.... very true... nice touch :)in a media distributed stand alone or retail aspect for the standalone, there have been many cases of Region Specific versions having features turned on or off depending where they are...just look at postal 2...and we all know if u want the gorey version of a game u can go get it online...although very valid and a great reply... i still think it should be added in

Zabbat (DayZ) 6 Posted August 15, 2012 I'm all for cannibalism would make the game more realistic and hardcore, murder someone is one thing but eating them is just....... delicious!

Where did you hear that? He's probably talking about prion diseases. They're rare, but can be spread by eating tainted meat, in the case of Kuru, the brain of an infected victim. That's inhumane. Edited August 15, 2012 by Benjamin

AryanBoogeyman 185 Posted August 15, 2012 Would be interesting as a last ditch way to avoid starvation...Over the top side effects would be needed to keep it from becoming the survival strategy of choice IMO.Good post OP.

Banicks 55 Posted August 15, 2012 (edited) So don't eat their brains. Probably a bad idea to eat cow brains as well because of mad cow. It's not brains. It's some sort of enzyme that breaks down your brain's ability to communicate with itself - leading to shaking and other neurological disorders. That was the study of the Karu.I'd look for a link, cbf though, I read it on wikipedia ages ago I'm fairly certain. Is Telltale's The Walking Dead series banned in NZ and Aus? It features cannibalism pretty prominently. If you mean the TV series no. If you mean the comics I have no idea, don't read them, I imagine a heavily edited version would be released or it may be allowed legally because it isn't depicting actual people but rather cartoons/anime.Our laws are a little silly regarding violence and such. amaROenuZ 144 Posted August 15, 2012 Kuru would have spread if they had eaten any part of the victim, the brain was just the part that was eaten, as part of a ritual. Cow meat, if tainted, can cause Cruezfeldt-Jakobs disease. The thing is, all prion diseases have massive incubation times. Often they don't kick in for decades, after exposure.
