Food 309 Posted August 15, 2012 My server has been working very nicely, it loads VERY fast and by very I mean under 10 seconds and you're in and the only problem we have is the occasional hackers that every server is plagued with.
MrGreen72 15 Posted August 15, 2012 Yep, game!de the company that even won't give their customers the permission to read the scripts.log file or let to choose patches etc. Opened a ticket about read permission to the log, it was suspended because it must forwarded to some other people first and they will discuss it then. That was for about 10 days, since then no answer. I'll quit my subscription at the end of the month.

Azrail (DayZ) 211 Posted August 15, 2012 You obviously have no idea WTF your talking about.you neither.your problems are currently present on many servers, for many players alike.its a bug, there are many bugs, they are trying to fix those bugs they deem highest priority.meanwhile they implement new features to test how they fit into all of this.you have absolutely no insight into their workflow process and can not decidewhich route in development is going to work out better.or else, go do it better if you know how to! Gogster (DayZ) 626 Posted August 15, 2012 I'd be very surprised if the dev's weren't aware of this problem and are looking to fix it in the next update. For now, just play the game as best you can.
Shadytash101 10 Posted August 15, 2012 ok.... i have read every single comment on this.i can see where people defend this game and rocket.i can see where the people becoming frustrated is coming from. the argument on money is due to it being an alpha. there is no need for any re compensation.bugs however will be fixed. this game updates a lot. and in many threads rocket himself wants to make this more stable before carrying on adding to many things (not saying he will stop adding however). so don worry. play another game for a week or so then come back, you will probs see a huge improvement in the game :)
-=BwA=- karms 3 Posted August 15, 2012 SixUpdater will only host the update once we have confirmed we are satisfied with the updatePretty sure SixUpdater is still hosting 1.7.2.4, seems the devs aren't "satisfied with the update," so why were you running it on your server and then complaining?
omniomi 5 Posted August 15, 2012 (edited) "It's an alpha" is a perfectly good response: "The alpha phase of the release life cycle is the first phase to begin software testing (alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet, used as the number 1). [...] Alpha software can be unstable and could cause crashes or data loss."On our server my fellow admins and I decided to roll 1.7.2.5 knowing there could be issues in the spirit of alpha testing. We have also opted not to roll back for the same reasons. As we find issues with the latest patch we submit bug reports or add to the existing bug reports on https://dev-heaven.n...cts/dayz/issues and continue looking for more. There is this prevailing expectation that this mod should be stable / feature complete and that the developers owe you something. This is simply misguided, you're expecting this alpha to preform like a beta or release candidate and you're misplacing your server rental fees on the developers. The mod is free, period, full stop. If you owned your own hardware and had your own bandwidth it would cost nothing to you but the fact you have chosen to rent a server to host this free mod is not on the developers at all.I have been involved in alpha and beta testing for lots of software including other games and mods; I have seen better but I have also seen worse. I stick with the projects I believe in and diligently report bugs to help the project as best as possible. If your first reaction is to roll back or complain about bugs instead of reporting them properly and then going on to look for more you do not understand the product release cycle. This mod although fun and entertaining is not complete, if you're not able to accept that then close your server and come back when it's standalone... oh wait, the first release of the standalone will be a Minecraft modelled pay-for-alpha... Oh well. Edited August 15, 2012 by omniomi
