dayz stand alone question

I have a question.

since im not that old and dont have alot money do i need to buy dayz to play since i already own it on arma2?

because it would be a bummer if i had to pay to play because i bought it like 2 months before i knew it became stand alone game.

can someone answer?

It's standalone meaning you'll have to buy it once more when it comes out.

DayZ is currently a free addon. The standalone version won't be available for a few months -- it was only announced like last week.

Yeah, you will have to pay the DayZ standalone (around 15-20), and you DID NOT PAID for dayz, you paid for ARMA 2.

(And seriously, 15 dollars, it"s nothing for that game who deserves more)

I don't see the stand alone version being more than $25.00, but who knows.

You can continue to play the DayZ mod for free, development will continue in parallel for some time as the mod will be used as a way to test out new ideas, features etc, before throwing them into standalone, it looks like the mod will also become a lot more open, which could mean a lot more community developed maps like Lingor Island being implemented.

That being said, personally I probably will not play the mod once standalone is released, simply because a lot of the mods problems unfortunately cannot be improved without modifying the engine code, and that can only be done in the standalone version.
