Yatagan 62 Posted August 14, 2012 I understand what this is trying to do, but it's horribly implemented. Every single time me and my friend go to play Dayz after taking a break (sleep, eat, real life, etc) it almost always takes us a few tries to get into a server. By that time the game has decided we are server hopping and we are both in random spots on the coast. It's happened every single time we've tried to play since the latest update.May I suggest that it doesn't count you as 'in' the server until you've played for at least 10 seconds? That way if you never even load in, or very quickly abort it doesn't freaking move you to a random spawn again?Until it's better implemented this HAS to go. It's absolutely killing the fun. SmashT 10907 Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) That's a bug, I can server hop perfectly fine, you only spawn at coast if you alt f4 or escape out at the loading screen, most people get stuck at the loading screen because they tried to join a server running a mismatching versionA quick workaround, if you are stuck on loading screen, alt tab out, launch a new game and join a server that you know you are getting into fine but also keep the one stuck open as well so you should have two games open at once, when you spawn, alt tab to the one that is stuck loading and alt f4 or control alt deleting it also works, the game using the lower memory is the one that's stuck. Mos1ey 6301 Posted August 14, 2012 Yeah, it's when I get stuck on the loading screen that it happens to me. Apparently it's because your character is in the debug plains during the loading screen then teleports to your last location. When you exit during loading your position in the debug plains is saved and then when you relog the game will take you out of the plains and dump you on the coast. Travis31 2 Posted August 14, 2012 I suppose the purpose of the debug fields here is to minimize the chance you get overrun by zombies or players while trying to log in. It is still annoying as all get out though. i've had it happen to me twice in two days. It totally blows grouping out of the water. :(
Mos1ey 6301 Posted August 14, 2012 Yeah, me too man... Both times teleported from the NW airfield area to Cherno and Elektro... I always make sure I'm in a safe spot before I log out so it's just an inconvenience for me. :(
vindi 0 Posted August 14, 2012 I agree, me and my friends have the same problem. We always have to try atleast 3-4 servers untill we find one that we are able to join, and by then we are spawned at hte coast and spread out all over the map... this is not working as intended
zombiejun 13 Posted August 14, 2012 i like this now! didn't know when it was server change only, i thought it was always! now i guess i just have to find a main server :)
Shadytash101 10 Posted August 14, 2012 i love the idea... you should favorite your "home" server and stick to it. if ya wana risk a new life, starting at the beach isnt a bad compromise
Quaby 93 Posted August 14, 2012 Sometimes, for me, even logging in on the same server makes you spawn back @ the coast. So i am praying i dont teleport away from my huey 0.
Mos1ey 6301 Posted August 14, 2012 Wut?Guys, this isn't an idea, it's a bug that happens when you get stuck on a loading screen then disconnect, lol.
Scott Pilgrim 65 Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) I agree. Being teleported got me killed after surviving in the world for 19 days or so, I had ran 1 hour to Elektro trying to save my friend. We weren't in same server, since we're far apart, it can be hard to find a server where we can both join and not get one of us kicked for ping. When we finally found a server, I logged in and got teleported all the way to Kamy. I logged out for the day. The next day I couldn't find the right server, and got teleported again, near Cherno or whatever. That place is never safe. I got shot by a new spawn twice, he had a Lee Enfield he found at a nearby barn. Sucks too, the server was kind of empty... I never got a shot off on him either. I let my guard down that time. :II wasn't happy about that Edited August 14, 2012 by Scott Pilgrim
