Equipping M16A4 Acog disables zoom out in 3rd person...?

Not sure if this is a bug or intended?

If I equip my G17, I can press the - key twice (on the numpad) and zoom out while in 3rd person mode. This lets me see more of the screen which is very helpful in identifying things around me.

When I equip the M16A4 Acog it puts me back to the default "zoom" and pressing the - key will temporarily zoom out but I can't get it to stick. If I switch back to the G17 it automatically switches back to my zoom out state.

I'm not talking about the right click function of the M16A4 Acog, I understand it's a fixed magnification.

I've had the - key refuse to stick doing other things too even without that gun, not sure what causes it.

Is that on purpose? Seems like a bug as when I loot with the M16A4 Acog I zoom out like normal and when I'm done looting it goes back to the close up zoom. Very annoying :(
