Sit down timer when leaving is already planned, so if he combat logs you just kill him

It's interesting. I've seen some threads complaining about spawning on the beach when connecting to a new server.

I've even seen people positing that maybe this spawning on the beach thing is to stop server hopping...

And then I realized. It's a simple, elegant solution.

Your position just doesn't save from server to server.

Live with it.

I'm not saying I know anything or it's been implemented, but it sure seems like an easy solution!

Make players wait 10-15 minutes until they can join a different server from the one they logged out of?

This is definitely a good solution, but it would also end in tragedy. If people knew that joining a new server would spawn you to the beach, there would be countless snipers just watching the shore waiting for someone to spawn.

I was thinking maybe when you spawn in you would go unconscious for like, 10-20 seconds, but this could also end bad.

Preventing people from leaving a server quickly is removing the only defence players have against script kiddies. In the stand-alone version, maybe something could be implemented if the skiddies aren't as common.

Preventing people from joining another server in the same position as they left is really the only way to tackle the problem as the mod currently stands. It is not perfect but if it had been like this from the start, people wouldn't be complaining.

Create more spawn points along the coast, all the way up to Berezino, and the chances of being sniped on the coast would fall.

I honestly think that the server should give you a message alerting you that someone is spawning in close to you. It wouldn't give away the location but would make you aware- say a kilometer radius so you also couldn't lay in wait for an ambush.

Would be a bit to easy to abuse, on one server your position is saved in the far NW/NE at a camp, another at a high loot area so you could just travel between them in seconds.

In regards to the OP, in my opinion you just shouldn't be able to log out inside of high population areas/towns (airfields/barracks etc.)

I've been killed quite a few times whilst walking out of the airfield barracks after fully clearing them only to be shot in the back by a server hopper just logging in inside the barracks behind me.

In areas outside of cities I don't really think it's as much of a problem, though they could perhaps add some sort of timer where you couldn't deal/take damage upon logging in for 10 seconds or so.

Edit: that's in addition to the logout timer that I think they're adding (where it would take you 20 secs or so to log out, WoW style.)
