insitv 305 Posted August 14, 2012 You need to repair EVERY part of the helicopter. All windscreen glasses, everything. It will stop leaking fuel after that. You need:1 Engine Part1 Main Rotor Assembly4 Scrap Metal9 Windscreen Glass
BreakPoint 8 Posted August 14, 2012 Or you can feed a lot of fuel into the helicopter and it'll stop leaking
The Sad Panda 113 Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) You have to have all the windshields repaired or the chopper leaks fuel. Obviously there are other reasons fuel can leak, but the windshield glass is the one that seemed most un-intuitive and took my group the longest to realize >.< Edited August 14, 2012 by The Sad Panda

Hutch (DayZ) 116 Posted August 21, 2012 Didn't work for me. I repaired everything and then repaired everything again and it's still leaking fuel. When I found the Huey, only two windscreens were damaged, the tail rotor and avionics and of course the mrotor and engine. The Hull and Missiles were still/already green as was most of the glass.Once everything was repaired I started putting fuel in it. Had a quarter tank and was getting prepped to fly to a fuel station but when I got in it was empty again. So I started again. Thinking I missed something or needed to repair things that were already green I got 4 more scrap metal and 4 more windscreens and went back and re-repaired items that were already green.Hull, Avionics, Vrotor, Missiles.Glass is tricky. Pointing to the right spot to get a list all glass that showed up was already green but I went ahead and replaced it all anyway from the top to the bottom.Assuming the list stays in order and assuming I was pointing to the right spot to get the full list of glass it all got re-repaired.Then we quickly put in 6 Jerry cans and flew to the south-west airfield landing near the fuel tank and two of us went back and forth with 2-3 jerry cans each filling and dumping until it was full.We few around for a while looking for other vehicles, picked up some other friends and landed near the north-west airfield with half a tank left. When we came back a half hour later it was empty.Any suggestions? echosyp 56 Posted August 21, 2012 Only suggestion is that you did not repair everything. This has been discussed over and over and over on the forums. There is something u haven't repaired fully yet
kryvian 123 Posted August 21, 2012 there is an oooold bug in which you just loose fuel regardless.
SmashT 10907 Posted August 21, 2012 I had the same problem, wasted 15 jerry cans, then I filled it with 1, got in and started it up and it stopped leaking.
Hutch (DayZ) 116 Posted August 22, 2012 So yeah. I missed something. When you find the sweet spot and roll through the list of repairable items, you get about five or six windscreen glass, then you get the four Hull, Avionics, vRotor and Missiles.I didn't scroll past those. There were a couple of windscreen glass at the bottom I didn't see that still needed repair. Why they are split like that I don't know but the gist is that I just didn't scroll far enough to see all the items that needed repair.Confirmed. No more fuel leak now.
echosyp 56 Posted August 22, 2012 Yea it takes 9 windscreen glass to fix the chopper
Tex Willer 47 Posted August 22, 2012 (edited) My experience: repaired everything, even put another scrap metal on every of the 4 parts although everything was green (and yes i repaired all the glass also), heli was still leaking. No problem we say, let's fill it up a bit and take off to the next fuel tank.Filled it up completely, and still leaking, but no problem because the tank is so big you can fly around all chernarus three times even if it's leaking. Now it comes: i did what you can call a harsh landing :) , everything went yellow (thank god).Being the smartasses that we are, we already had some spare parts in the chopper's gear, so i pick the main rotor assembly and repair it (didn't knew i have aircraft engineer skills, and i didn't even needed to repair it, but yeah :D )And magically it stopped leaking. I sat in the pilot's seat for two minutes to see if the fuel would drop, but it was not leaking anymore.Stupid thing is that it started to leak again after a restart, but at least we had our fun in the mean time.So my advice is to maybe hit the main rotor with like a makarov shot once, or for instance you could try any part of the hull, and then repair it again.Maybe it will work.Edit: this happened with 1.7.2.4, don't know if they changed anything in .5 Edited August 22, 2012 by Tex Willer
crush.lv@gmail.com 12 Posted October 1, 2012 Having your chopper leak fuel because of a cracked windscreen is really silly. How the hell are you supposed to find and move 6 windscreens?
sostronk 334 Posted October 1, 2012 Having your chopper leak fuel because of a cracked windscreen is really silly. How the hell are you supposed to find and move 6 windscreens? Its pretty quick when you do it with a team. On your own its pretty rough though.
mibz0r 141 Posted October 1, 2012 There is also the bug that if you stop the engine but still have auto-hover on the heli will use the fuel
