E.g. - find some little town, read it's name, find it on the map (dayz wiki might help with translation of city names). You do the same. Then he should look up on the map, where are you, and you should coordinate where to meet up. savini 587 Posted May 28, 2012 ...When you spawn it'll say what town you're near. Tell him to tell you where he is, then find him and drag him along.Quick Tips:1. In the morning the sun will be in the East, and vice-versa for evening. If clouds obscure the sun, try to find your shadow.2. At night you can find the North star by first finding the big dipper, then using the two stars that make up the opposite end to point you to the North star. North star guide.3. Generally we spawn along the South coast, so have him run away from the ocean and follow a road till he hits a sign. All the signs are in Russian, but the vowels are pretty much the same. So you can roughly make out what town it is if he spells it out for you.4. Use teamspeak.5. Have a way to signal eachother such as a head bob (q and e).6. Find a compass.7. Find a map.8. machomanugget 26 Posted May 28, 2012 as stated use the maps you can find online.. there is plenty even on google images you can both use to check where you are.. also when you first log into the game for a few seconds in the bottom right hand corner of the screen it tells you where you are..this doubled with the online map you can both make out whereabouts you are.. if you both use a comms program like skype teamspeak etc it makes it even easier..reading road signs and working out the spelling is not that hard once you do it a few times.just comes down to how far you will have to travel to meet at a safe location!good luck Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
boneboys 7988 Posted May 28, 2012 If both of you have a map and the server that you are playing on allows it, did you know that...Double clicking a location on the map with the LMB will give you a marker which you can name in the dialog box that appears, also you can change the icon style with the up & down arrow keys. Hit the ENTER key and the marker will be visible.Your friend will now be able to see the same marker on his map.How you get to the meeting place is another problem but a compass does help a lot !Might help, might not.
