CptBywater 10 Posted August 13, 2012 Hello, Recently I have been checking the forums daily and sometimes twice a day looking for just general discussion (I guess that's why I'm on the general discussion forum). Hotdog (DayZ) 37 Posted August 13, 2012 I don't know how many threads I have read where there's pages and pages of people arguing initially about the game and how "this is an alpha mod" but then quickly becomes a fight between each others bruised egos. I mean, I know that's typical of 95% of forums out there (and the Internet in general, really) but damn, are we really that incapable of having a decent discussion which a.) isn't about the same thing over and over and b.) doesn't evolve into childish name calling and turns of "NUH UH"! - "YA HUH!" posts?I'm also getting a little fed up with seeing posts from users that begin with, "I haven't read the last <enter number of pages thread has grown to here> but what I think is <enter argument that has been stated 1,000 times already in the previous pages but written as though it's the first post of that thought, ever>". It's great that people want to get involved and share their opinions - that's entirely what this forum and "community" is for... but at least have a bit of common courtesy by reading other people's thoughts and opinions before you come charging in with your own opinion that only ends up being the same thing others have already said. To me, it's about balanced participation - take the time to read other peoples posts first before coming in and making your own - elaborate on what others have said that align with your thoughts, by all means... just don't expect people to take you seriously or bother to read your posts when you clearly can't be bothered to give others the same time of day that you expect from everyone else./ventI wish we could all get along like we used to in middle school.
