Map position keeps resetting

So, first up, it's probably worth mentioning that I'm quite new to DayZ and it could be something blatantly obvious that I'm doing wrong, but I thought I'd make sure.

Every time I log in, my character's position has reset as if it were spawning in fresh, even though I've still got all of my gear. And what's more annoying, on my current life, it keeps taking me back to where I spawned in, which just so happens to be west of Kamenka. I've walked all the to the edge of Cherno twice now and come back to find my position has reset itself and it's getting pretty frustrating.

What can I do to fix this? Is it possible to stop this from happening?

(Also, on a side note - I got my second ever murder earlier on. The guy was lying down and I went to town on him with my hatchet. He had a sniper rifle and an ALICE pack, but I think he disconnected as I killed him because his body sank into the ground and I wasn't able to loot him. What was the point of this exactly? Was he just acting like a prick for the sake of it, to deny me the loot?)

The number one cause for this is if you abort/escape when stuck on loading, which almost always happens when you join a server on a different version to you.

A temporary fix, if you know of a server that you have no problems joining is to alt tab when stuck on the loading screen, launch another game, it will ask you if you want to close the original, click no, join a server you know you have no problems joining, once you are in-game where you were supposed to spawn, alt tab to the game stuck on loading screen and close it.

Once most servers and sixlauncher update to the latest version it should occur a lot less.

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense, seeing as I've been having a lot of loading issues as well. I haven't been on since I last reached Cherno (for the third time haha) so I won't be making that mistake again.
