Can't see character on map anymore

Hi!

I recently started playing Day Z again after taking a break for a few weeks. I'm completely lost because I can not see my character on the map. I could see my character earlier. I've tried multiple servers, I've tried restarting my computer and Steam etc. Tried different servers, ArmA 2 and Day Z are both updated to the latest revisions. I have tried dropping the map and picking it up again but I still can't see my character.

Any ideas?

Are you sure you aren't playing on Expert (or Veteran).

I know some servers have the map Off but there is definitely a difficulty that removes you from the map forcing you to know your ways by looking at the terrain.

Geez so typical. Right after posting I join a server and I see myself.

Some servers have this function disabled, some do not, once you get used to the landmarks and the terrain all you really need is a compass anyways. Good luck!

Also, it says where you are when you spawn in. I

dude, it was disabled, but there are still servers (mostly US) who has that enabled
