It's funny that with your logic it is fine to have these rare spec-op weapons ingame but having the SMG that was sold to every corner of the world is unrealistic.

Op's idea is interesting, but once one realises how many unused weapons there are from A2/CO/BAF/PMC/ACR there really isn't any reason to mod new ones in, just add in many/any of the unused ones.

Most of them are sci-fi crap that never left a laboratory and have no place in DayZ lore: XM8, AK107, SCARs, M107 TWS, etc, etc.

What I'm proposing is low-tech stuff that would fit greatly in the game.

all weapons, except, DE would be just alternative versions of current weapons in game, just with a bit different recoil.

a DE is a good addition, because its a hunting pistol, so it should be common

Like other handgun cartridges of such magnitude, the principal uses of the .50 AE are metallic silhouette shooting and medium/big game hunting.

as for the accuracy, its all about shooter. and with such caliber you probably wont need more then one shot.

the U.K. armed forces own several thousand m16/m4 variants, chances of finding them in operation zones is incredibly slim,

not trying to piss on ya chips here mate, but ya so wrong.....the UK armed forces do not use m16/m4's......they use the SA80-A2 as a standard assault rifle/infantry weapon.
