Should we be able to climb...

I really don't know how the engine would handle this but since every tree is considered an entity so we can chop would of an individual tree maybe this is do-able.

1. You would need to find gear that goes in a tool slot to allow the action to show up.

2. You will have to open your Inventory and right click "Use Gear" or something like that to put it on. This will take some time (so you won't be able to just climb up some tree in a second to hide). There must be some solution to hinder the player to wear it all the time.

3. Use the action menu to Climb Tree. It would work just as a ladder and you can look around while climbing. Climbing should be really slow.

No game changing feature of course, but a fun way to help navigate, scout ahead or hide.

I think it is possible, but it makes more sense to just climb the fucker, who needs a harness and all that nonsense?

Might be difficult to implement, especially since it would require custom animations and all to "look right" but certainly no more difficult to code than melee weapons or zombies in the woods, I wouldn't think.

As I know fuckall about stuff like this could you tell me why the engine wouldn't like it? Just out of curiousity. :)

As for the need to find climbing gear that is more of a way to get more stuff for the player to find.

I've actually wished for this feature on several occasions while being chased by a horde of zombies :D

If I understand Linda correctly, it makes every tree different from each other. This would make it nearly impossible to know where a branch would be on a certain tree. So the game wouldn't know where to sit when climbing. And you would probably need to use the attachTo command, which doesn't allow you to move around.

Didn't OFP or ARMA have certain trees that had wooden platforms/hides and ladders to climb? We do need this ingame. A great idea!

plz only implement in the final, this will be a bug festival if implemented now. I mean I dropped twice from a ladder because I was set back all of the sudden, can't imagine how aweful trees would be...
