echosyp 56 Posted August 12, 2012 I been using DayZ Radar to keep up with a few vehicles randomly teleporting around the map and vehicles changing into other vehicles. Lately the RPT file hasn't been showing any players. Anyone know of another program that works a little bit better?

Sna.ke 43 Posted August 12, 2012 Nop that's not my opinion , i was using Dayz_radar too ,It's the official opinion of the Dayz Staff.DayZ staff threatens to ban/blacklist servers for enabling Sidechat. I'm inclined not to believe them when they talk about a Server Admin tool.
matt216@email.com 22 Posted August 12, 2012 RPT data is now limited thanx to dayz dev team so the rpt file is now useless no matter what program you use.
SPESSMEHREN (DayZ) 16 Posted August 12, 2012 (edited) RPT data is now limited thanx to dayz dev team so the rpt file is now useless no matter what program you use.Did they do that within the past day?Oh wow, I called it. I so called it. In my post yesterday I said RPT data would be removed because the dev team cares more about the potential for admin abuse than they do about stopping hackers. The fact is, the DayZ staff believe that, because of their failure to ensure competent, trustworthy people operate DayZ servers, they must take away every single thing that sever admins could potentially abuse. When I said this in another thread, a forum mod responded by saying "oh yeah what are you gonna do when a server admin uses the radar tool to find your vehicle camp, steal them, and gun you down?" I think this is the sentiment shared by the community. Granted, there is no vehicle to steal because hackers keep teleporting them and stealing them, but the DayZ dev team is far more concerned about admin abuse to give a shit. ken@thekab.com 37 Posted August 12, 2012 It's not like they didn't announce it two weeks or so ago. Now we have essentially nothing to identify cheaters with.I would like to thank the author of DayZ Radar for being a flaming dumbass and releasing it to the public. Some of us had been catching cheaters with the RPT file, thank you for screwing that up.
Food 309 Posted August 12, 2012 I think actually helps keep people camps on my server safe. If I saw one on my camp in the Radar I actually would tend to avoid it due to me not really needing anything and it's kind of unfair. Although I was able to find TONS of hacker with it teleporting to vehicles and vehicles teleporting to them and do hacked weapons checks.

{sas}stalker 108 Posted August 12, 2012 (edited) Everything I've seen, read and experienced from both the mod team of this forum and the dev team behind the mod leads be to believe that thay condone, even promote cheating within the Dayz mod. echosyp 56 Posted August 12, 2012 The dev team is right and wrong on this. For one they limited the RPT file so that admins couldn't abuse the radar, because quite a few admins were abusing it.Second, I know they want to be in complete control over the game and deal with the issues on their own, but as long as we are allowed to host servers for people to play on we should have little more control than we do.With the thousands of servers available, we should be able to ban who we feel is doing wrong. They can simply move to another server if they please. Which is why games like counterstrike are nice to admin on because the admin has all the power in the world to do whatever they wish.
