DayZNoob23 0 Posted August 12, 2012 Ok, So me and my girlfriend are wanting to play dayz on the same computer but we are tired of having to use just my account. Can we have two steam accounts and two copies of arma 2 & OA and have two different accounts? So that way when one of us dies we dont have to keep switching the names of the person? We just have two different people so we can play whenever without having to play on each others account? And would we have to install arma 2 & OA on her steam account again? Thanks

Mayuyu 411 Posted August 12, 2012 There is a super easy solution for this, just follow my instructions! If you have a 64bit computer the process might be a little different, this is for 32bit.On your steam account, launch both ARMA II and ARMA II OA, and get to the menu.Type into Run 'Regedit'In the folder list, you'll need to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Bohemia Interactive StudioThere are two folders called ARMA 2 and ARMA 2 OARight click on ARMA 2 OA and choose export title it with your name. Export the registery files somewhere where you can access them, like a folder in my documents called 'keys'What this does is switches between your CD and her CD key, since ARMA 2 does by CD key for your player. So that CD Key will be yours. Get your girlfriend to log into hers, and she must launch both ARMA II and ARMA OA.Repeat the process, and export her registery files and name them her name so you know which account you'll be logging into. Disgraced 1123 Posted August 12, 2012 You need separate steam accounts AND separate windows user Ids. I've been doing this since May.
DayZNoob23 0 Posted August 12, 2012 So instead of messing with my registry, I can just make two separate windows accounts?

But I don't remember if you can change profiles while you're connected to a DayZ server. Would that accomplish the same thing in the way that you want? DayZNoob23 0 Posted August 12, 2012 Crysiiz, Did you have to install it twice? I mean did you have to install it for each of your accounts since its already downloaded onto the computer?
onaturi 7 Posted August 12, 2012 this is not a tip to regarding your problem as i think that has been answered already. its more a question. Why don't you 2 play together on 2 seperate systems? its much more fun to play with someone else imo
Mayuyu 411 Posted August 12, 2012 The registry edit is really simple, that's the solution, give it a go. You'll only risk mucking up if you go haywire in the regs, just follow the instructions and it's all a matter of clicking on a file to switch accounts.
