server selection help PLZZ!

i just started playing this and im a total noob to this server selection and this game. but it seems like every server i do actually seem to get into take forever to load. i get the the creating character part, and when that is done, it just says loading and i will be stuck at the screen for up to 30 min or more. the servers im joining all have a low ping so idk. am i doing something wrong or can someone suggest a server plz?

also, another question is what is the best way to launch the game. i am using DayZ commander to look at servers and launch it, but is launching it through Arma 2 better or is there any difference???? thanks to anyone that can help

First things first..

Make sure you are trying to join a server that is running the same build/s as you.

Myself for example I am with DayZ 1.7.2.5 and using beta 95417 (later beta's have given me problems, including the loading screen).

I use ArmA Launcher by SpiritedMachine but this requires that you create a folder : @dayz and within, another folder named addons.

Put the required DayZ files into the addons folder...

Sounds complicated,,, it's not.

Once you have mastered the @/mod/addons you can mix and match any modifications you wish.

There are other ready to wear solutions but I have no use of them.

Just get the game running without any beta (official ArmAII/CO build) before mucking about with beta'a and such.
