A big thank you to those who make the game playable

Recommended Posts

Lately, for me that has included:

The great medics and especially MikaelM who has saved my life more often than is imaginable and then given me tips on how to survive, what to do and not do, and sent me on my way with a steak and morphine. What a lovely guy. Thanks, MikaelM  (Apparently, shouting and screaming over skype while in a crouched position and surrounded by zombies is a big no-no. One should remain calm and simply enter the nearest doorway to laugh at any other fools screaming hysterically, "My god, he's got me, I can't run! I CAN'T RUN!"

Also, more thanks to LVG who has spent many an hour laughing at me and saying, "just do it noob!", as I ask, "Click where? " or "What does unzip mean?"

And even more thanks to Spectre, who took the time to teach me that standing up in the open is like wearing a "SHOOT ME NOW PLEASE" t-shirt. A great guy, real friendly and so patient with me as I stop to admire rabbits.

And my first real dayz hero (and in my books all those guys above, are heroes too), Stiffy. Who joined me in the early days as we legged it through Elektro. Me whimpering, "Oh God, I heard a zombie, I know I did!" as I crawled bravely into town on my belly. Stiffy, running around evading every zombie's grip and ending up with just about everything he wanted.

Thanks to all of them. :)

What about you? Who would you thank for their company in the game, their generosity, help or just for being a nice guy?

You, my friend are very very very very lucky. I came into this game with no-one to help me. Unfortunately for every nice guy there is in this game, there are 25 horrible people. I'd be happy to play with you guys sometime if you like. I'm quite a seasoned veteran by now, and if you ever want a medic/pilot (MEDEVAC in other words) I'm happy to do that. Just provide me with the chopper lol.

Anyway, would you like to contact me through Skype by any chance? We can play together like I said.

Since we're talking about heroes, I'd like to mention Otis, my DayZ hero, who on my second attempt to play back in May rescued me. with a helicopter. While I was being chased by eight zombies and bleeding out. He and his friends landed, gave me blood, and let me work the machine gun as we went for a ride. I was no one, a supreme noob who only knew the basics because of YouTube, yet he rescued me anyway. How can I ay as a bandit or otherwise terrorise the players with a start like that?

Great topic to share, Sula, and way to go to all who have helped you.

Thanks Lauren. I could name more but I find most people helpful. OK, a few have been super nice then assassinated but with considerable planning an effort. So I even admire that. :D

Austin, I've had a problems accessing the servers as I didn't have the latest patch. However, the amazingly knowledgeable LVG has sorted that for me. I'll be in dayz later today sometime. Not sure where I will be though. ;)

Still waiting on my 69.99 per hour fee just to let you know.

As am I. I run the DayZ Basic Training Institution for NoobZ, and im still waitin on payment, $59.99 per hour was the agreed fee as it says on the DayZ BTI Contract, in which it states on line 30 of paragraph 3 in subsection 4, "Payment of $59.99 an hour will be paid in full on the day of the training session". And i still havent received the payment. I dont know whats goin on, if Sula's tryin to cheat me or what, but im tellin you i am having my lawyer call your lawyer. and i am willing to settle this in court if need be.

HAH! JUST KIDDING, I had you goin there for a second. But really its been fun playing with you Sula, even though it was like i was teaching a class haha, i actually have no DayZ heroes since ive been on my own since i started playing 2 months ago, im my own hero. So you're one of the lucky ones. In fact, i could count you as my sorta DayZ hero Sula, because i was goin absolutely mad being alone for so long, and i was ready to quit, but you came along and offered to join up with me, so i'd like to thank you Sula, for pullin me back into the land of the sane. But yea, i'll group up with you whenever you're available, and teach you how to catch and slaughter beautiful bunnies for their delicious rabbit legs, and how to cook their hearts and eat their brains...mmmmm...brains....

I just started a few days ago, and have never seen a player willing to tell me running through Elektro with no gun is a bad idea. (Who knew  )

I take it back. I was running in circles being chased by zombies, dieing, and had no clue what to do. Then, a man in a gille suit saved me. He escorted me through Elektro, letting me loot all of the guns. He saved me from a bandit, and countless zombies. Sadly, I didn't catch his name. Thank you, whoever you are!

I sincerely would like to thank every person who plays this game and doesn't hack. Bandits and survivors alike. Lately, as I grow to learn more and more of the game and die less to bandits and zeds, the bane of my dayz life has been hackers, so..so many of them.

Thanks to everyone who doesn't and thanks a million times more to the admins kicking the hackers, and thanks infinity to those people screenshoting and recording these hackers and reporting them.

Thank you all :).

Just led some guy outside of Elek into a house and killed all the zombies after him and just randomly feel down dead with -20k blood. Second death after a month to hackers.. guess I'm kinda lucky. :<

I came across a new spawnee the other day being chased by zombies. I killed them with my axe and he ran away, though I said on the mic I was friendly (I think my mic is broken!) He looked like he might come back but then ran off.

A few minutes later, I look back and he's running towards me. Aww, he's changed his mind. He wants to be friends! Thats niiiiiice. :) Uhoh, he has about six zombies following him. Aaaaand yup, he dumped them on me and legged it to safety. :D
