Fast Computer (I think) next to 0 fps

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, right now I'm running

i5 760 @ 2.8 Quad Core

8 GB Ram

Windows 7 64x

Nvidia 560ti

And I'm getting unplayable fps. I've tried changing all the settings in the .cfg files like different people have been doing but I can't get a steady FPS. I need someone to just tell me a definitive answer, this setup can play Battlefield 3 on High at 50fps.

I know that Arma2/DayZ is a CPU heavy game, but I smash the specs out of the ball park. Everything is updated, the game/graphics card etc.

Any help will be amazing. I forked out $30 just to play this free mod! The kicker is that my old computer that I had when I first bought Arma II ran it perfectly, and it was waaaayyy behind this machine.

Your specs are better than mine and I don't have any FPS issues.

See? That's what I mean.

I've seen people on youtube run it with my graphics card on high and get 60fps! I wish it would work...

Check a few different servers. On some servers I have fps lag to like 3 fps. On others I run my full 120fps.

Not sure man, But I do know something aint right coz you got a pretty good setup right there, are you sure its not the server your in ? as I know in some servers are terribly laggy, try different servers.

But yer your PC should easily play this game, Maybee someone with better knowledge could hop in the thread and help you out further.

Good Luck

Go into your Nvidia control panel. Turn ambient occlusion off. Go through all the settings and change them to "aplication controlled" or "let the application decide" if the option allows it. This is the best i can offer atm. Hope it helps.

Thanks bud. It's not just DayZ, it's Arma II in general. I've tried running with and without the mod, tried running with that anti blur patch, changing my nvidia settings blah blah blah.

About 3 months old and like I said, Battlefield 3 on High at 50fps. It's definitely not the gpu.

try to adjust your power settings. even if its a desktop, most newer hardware comes with software that lets you adjust the speeds and power consumptions and the fans and so on...
