Rocket said it will be supportet and developt both at the same time.

Development and updates of the mod will continue in parallel with the development of the game, so anyone who is playing the mod now will be able to continue to do so. The project will follow the Minecraft development model; fast iterations with the community alpha available for a heavily discounted price.

Why would they stop developping the mod?

It is their dream haven of testing where they can try anything they wish for and blame it on an alpha mod, so nobody can ''really'' be mad.

This is already the PC game of the year, and it's the alpha of a mod on a 2 year old platform. It's the karate kid of the gaming industry. :)
