Item "duping" & "dupers".

Seriously guys & gals,

Gotta stop item duping, cos it just places you in the same group as the hackers, You should be playing this how its meant to be played.

If you die, you lose everything and should have to start from scratch, not just run back to a friends tent and get all the survival gear, gps, nvg`s that have been "duped" in your tents.

You are only cheating yourselves outta a very good game!!!

pretty sure most end game players like the whole end game hunting / car driving part alot more than the "hiking simulator 2009"

also since the duping problem is part of the game engine nothing can really be done about it other than removing clothing / tents / fixing the save options

A think a complete stats/loot reset when 1.7.3 comes out wouldn't be a bad thing.

Fix the tents so items can't be duped. Then clear everyone stats/items.

Everyone will back on an even keel, no more duping...so rare items will be just that. :D

I have Rangefinder, Ghillie, NVG, etc etc etc. So i would lose alot too. Not bothered though...stuff is far too common now.

Its not my fault, I didn't write this SQL system. The only thing I could possibly do is forget where my tent is and stop storing items entirely and just wander across Chernarus living off the land and never putting anything in a tent or a vehicle.

according to rocket duping is stuck with us until standalone as its engine issue. i will never TRY to dupe but playing with a large group, alot of the time due to server restarts the items will just come back even though we didnt mean it to! this is my big issue with it, it seems far to easy to do even if u didnt mean to!

I'll stop taking advantage of my tents restocking themselves when I stop getting nuked by hackers. Oh, and I've easily lost as much gear to bugged tents as what's been duped.

Honestly i have a tent for 2 days now, today i log in, and i had all the stuff i put in my tent yesterday. BUT i always save 3 or 4 time my tent, because i fear it will desync (i got this tips on a video off youtube) so maybe you should stop pointing finger at him. it's an alpha everything is still to be fixed pretty much....don't think everyone is not legit.

I know WHY its duping, its because vehicles and tents aren't saving their child inventories correctly and haven't been for several weeks now. I DO save my tent after I use it. I save it like 8 times. If I have a vehicle I tend to spam saves on that at least 20 times cause I want to ensure its there when I get back.

Every time, regardless of how many times I've tried to save my tent/vehicle state, when the server is restarted, the inventory reverts to a state previous to me actually having taken anything out of it.

I've got a camp I only visit once in a small while due to its location. But just like my other tents I always save it after I've gone by it to grab something I might need cause I was in the area. And every time I go by the inventory is exactly the same, regardless of what I've used previously.

Point out exactly WHERE you were getting at that in your post, as I see no specifics given, just a sweeping general message, and I'll lighten up...

I took 2 weapons out of my tent last night, to move them to a different tent. (splitting up stuff) I know full well that when I go back to my original tent, they will be back in there like I never removed them. I guess I fail to see how you expect people to fix it. Hence my "destroying" comment.

I've been going around on my server on the edge of the map with an ATV and finding tent cities that clearly duped items (found one tent that had 27 satchel charges). I then proceeded to remove every item from the tents, save tent, then run it over.

One little problem...

I want to play "legit", w/o any duped stuff.

-i can't loot tents / vehicule

-i can't loot players, exept for casual stuff

My own tent / car dupe stuff even if i don't want to (or loose it, like... server restart incoming, i save the car, wait for the restart and it randomise stuff sometime), when i deco-reco it resupply magically some ammo. Sometime ammo morph into... medical supply, another ammo type. I even managed to dupe *my own body* after a deco-reco (reco : body standing alive for 5 min, die from unknown cause and was there until next server restart)

There is dupe even if you don't want to. If a guy who hate exploit / dupe manage to do it even if he don't want to... what about those who want to dupe item?
