Which gun is better?

I have the choice to get an akm or lee enfield, please help me decide which one is better. When i say better i mean like the chance of me finding ammo on the go and damage

AKM

It does less damage than Lee Enfield, but it can fire much faster. It also has zeroing which is awesome.

I'd take the AKM. The ammo is a bit rarer but still fairly plentiful. Also it's a good all rounder.

More ammo per magazine, 1 shot kill most of the time(against zombies), ammo is extremely common.

I personally would take lee einfield. I love the sights, powerful round against players and zombies. Usually can drop someone in 1 body shot, 2 to kill.

Well the lee enfield is a single shot at a time but its ammo is EVERYWHERE, the akm is semi or full and that ammo is rarer. I suggest taking the akm for the time being, if you run out of ammo you can always find another gun

This is wrong. Enfield was nerfed to half it's damage in ArmA 2. And as far as I know DayZ hasn't reverted that change.

So it takes two body shots now to kill a player instead of one.

As far as finding ammo, all you will have to go on is anecdotal evidence from your fellow players. Personally, I've seen a lot of Lee Enfeld ammunition, and slightly less AKM ammunition.

I fired the AKM in the barracks once and had the whole population of Zeds on my arse (funnily enough outside it did better) ... But if your intent is to be a bandit go for it.

The LE .. 500 meter shot, bandit dead .. but that was before the nerf.

I prefer the AKM because you get thirty rounds per mag, rather than the ten round Enfield clip. The ammo is a bit more rare from the nice assault rifle, but how about this. If you have something better than the beginner backpack, you can carry both! A rifle or shotgun will take ten backpack slots but you can have both and test them out, see which one suits your play style.
