Problem with FPS

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm DayZ player since last week but still I can't solve my problem with low fps. Normally in forrest i have around 40+ fps but as soon as I enter any town, my fps is dropping to 19-20 fps, in Cherno/Elektro even 13 fps :F. The strangest thing is that even changing graphic settings didn't solve this problem. I also tried re-installing game, defragmenting disk, changing values in .txt files but none of them helped me. My PC maybe isn't the best but every game (except DayZ) is running very well on high/very high details. Can anyone help me? :)

My PC:

AMD Athlon II X4 635 3.0 GHz

Zotac GeForce GTX 260'2 1 GB

8 GB RAM DDR2

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

There seems to be a graphical glitch in towns and certain areas like the air fields that even if you can't see it at the time it can still affect you. Also there may be more reasons too as there is a lot of models that are in sight?

Exactly. I didn't write it in 1st post, but my fps is dropping even if I have anything more in sight than grass and few trees xD

Hello there

be aware this is quite common for DAYZ/Arma.

Check the bohemia forums for many years worth of tweaks and FPS optimisation.

Orlok, I know that arma 2 is unoptimalized and dayz even more but the thing that is pissing me off is that everyone is saying that tweak with this gpuframesahead=1 etc. is giving them 2 times more fps. I also tried it and what? Nothing.

the thing with the gpuframesahead=1 is that you have to remember to put it in both the arma2oa config file and the normal arma 2 config file (both should be in same spot) and you also need to set the config files to READ-ONLY so when you start your game up it doesnt reset the values back to normal values

The funniest thing is that when I do that in both files my game runs worse xD But I didn't check read-only so I will do this and talk to you later ;)

Hullo there

The arma engine delights in brining powerful PC's to their knees.

Chenarus is especially heavy on FPS, this is one of the reaons people are porting DAYZ to other maps.

Really, check the Bis forums for all the lesser known tweaks. There are loads.

Good Luck
