firing range practice

i need to get use to the sniper rifle DMR, is there a way without playing dayz to go to something similar to a firing range just so i can practice ranging and such? is there a game mode in arma that would allow me to practice firing? if so explain, thanks.

Yes there is a firing range mission for Operation Arrowhead. Just google it, it's pretty good

Do this first if you haven't played ARMA 2: OA (which I'am assuming you haven't).

Then open the game go to the Armory, pick a DMR and click Try it.

^ i know about the armory, but there is nothing to shoot at in the armory. im looking for stationary targets that you would see at a firing range

It's very good and even has moving target practice. It's on a flat runway though so there's no elevation practice.

What I did was start up Arma OA and went into the single player editor and just added soldiers with the gun I wanted and set control to player. It might take some trial and error to get the right weapon, but then you can even add other units at whatever distance and then you have moving targets that shoot back.

Don't be intimidated by the editor, it's not very complicated if you just want to do simple stuff.

You need to go to multiplayer on your arma 2 main menu then...

New>Create game>OK>Map=Chernarus>Mission=The Shooting Range

have fun, it's an awesome little mod for practising with all the weapons in DayZ

Go to the armoury and do the mini games it sends you, much better real time practice.

There is a reason the old arma2 players find this game too easy :P

Watch tutorials about the editor, you can create custom missions with enemys so you can practise firefights

Took me ages to access that shooting range mission. I ended up imstalling it to single player, worked fine then.

Another thing to do is use mission editor to create a scenario. Have used this to practice sniping Stary before. Also to practice high speed low altitude Huey maneuvers.
