Entire forest/city is on fire? Glitch or hack?

So I was playing for around an hour and a half, making my way towards Cherno from a long distance away. Eventually got near it and I noticed a fire sound playing non stop. I look towards this forest and the entire place has a fire graphic over it. I recorded that as I thought it was strange, you could only view it from certain angles. I made my way into Cherno and the entire place still sounded like it, and was lit up like it was on fire. Didn't record that though, just the same thing. Is this a hack or glitch?

I've had this before too... Must be a glitch..

Was running around Cherno at night and the entire town was lit up orange. Without the flames I wouldn't have been able to see ANYTHING. :)

Hello there

Check the BiS forums, this has never been sorted out AFAIK.

I take it as a possible indicator of scripts being run.

I've seen this where there is no air-power (a possible glitch connection) or helos. Indeed I've seen it on IFL PVP servers where there are no helo's in game.

I'd like to lay this to bed once and for all.

This debate's been going on for some time.

gz someone spawned a helo or other aircraft in your "IFL"

in DayZ however, when a huey crashes that fire starts up and is there until server reset.

Hello there

Iron front is a standalone game using the RV engine the same as DAYZ will be.

Same issues there on the occasional PVP server.

Cant spawn Hueys as they don't exist and nothing is using their id.

Check the Bohemia forums, this has been linked to helos but has also been linked to scripting, no resolution has been found as yet.
