Will DayZ work with DVD copy?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

In about 2 weeks im getting DayZ. Im Buying the ARMA II: Combined Operations From EBgames so its on a DVD.

im wondering will DayZ work with the DVD copy of ARMA II? If so would i need the DVD in my PC to play it?

im Extremely eager to play DayZ and just need to know if it will work like this.

I can't be bothered getting it on steam and download both games.

I believe it will work,I saw many cracked servers etc.

Yeah it works for me. But you have to install an update to get the retail version to run on the latest servers. But yeah it should work.

the one im getting is not cracked. Like I got to a shop to buy the game :P. Just seeing if it will work on a Hard DVD copy of it. Thanks :D Now i know DayZ will work on the DVD ones. :P

@sam what ya mean by Update? Like soon as i install ARMA II Do i just got to update the games THEN get Dayz? :

Any legit version of Arma 2 with Arma 2 OA or Arma 2 combined operations should work.
