Mk 48 mod 0 and backpack

For some reason i cant wear my ALICE pack when i try to equip this beast of a machingun and when i put on the back pack the gun is placed on the floor with its mags... is this a common problem or is my game just glitching out?

I can't tell you if it's working as intended, but I saw this happening to some poor sod on a livestream yesterday.

Its happening ot me too but i want this awesome gun :( but i need a backpack. Any ideas how i can equip both?

By default in the ArmaII game if you have a weapon over a certain size the backpack slot is taken up due to it. This was a problem with the M107 and AS50 when DayZ first came out, too.
