Global Bans for legit players?

iam Global baned too, like the most peopel in this topic, i did not use Hacks or Cheats (realy)

I have send a ticket to BE at this morning, but i dont hear anything from them till now, have annybody an idea what is Global ban #7edd ?

And can someone tell me what i can do against that ban, because i feel screwed from BE.

its very very easy to hijack someone in this game if you know the person's guid, you dont even need a cd key just a guid. you just need to sniff around the memory and replace your guid with the other person's guid and bam you log in as the said hijacked person. should the hijacker decide to hack on that person's account the person suffers the consequence from battleye and the hijacker moves on to a new guid.

its very very easy to obtain a list of guid if you host a server. even if bohemia fixes this a hijacker already have hundreds of thousands of guids to use from.

Quit spreading this bullshit. That's now how it works at all. Your GUID is generated by the server, not by the client (otherwise GUID banning would be completely useless because people could just edit their GUIDs with someone else's as you're saying [the only thing stored on the client side is your CD-key which you pass to an auth server]).

Do you even understand what a GUID is or why it's used? It's a hash, and it's one way based off your CD-key.

Well i don't even feel like logging in after being unbanned in case i get banned again till this whole mess is sorted out.

Was thinking is it even worth me recording me logging in and playing for awhile incase i do get banned again to show i was doing nothing wrong?

Battleye is a truly pathetic system. I've had a few issues with it awhile back in regular ARMA II, but nothing like what's happening here.

It does almost nothing to effectively stop all of the cheating and hacking occurring, and worse, it punishes legitimate players. Most of the people here are probably hackers posing as victims, but I know there are certainly a few legit players with issues here. A close friend of mine who I've played online with for over a decade recently got banned by Battleye (about two weeks ago) for no apparent reason. He has never cheated nor hacked and I know he didn't do so here either. We were playing together and after we logged off near Vybor... he was unable to log in again the next day due to a BE Global Ban. This is a guy who's even more anti-disconnect and anti-duping than I am, someone whose integrity I fully believe and support.

I myself have been a victim of false positives with anti-cheat software several times, so I know this happens. Punkbuster kept me from playing BF:BC2 for almost six months because it somehow thought I had been cheating, it took ages to get a ban appeal across to them. Blizzard banned me from Starcraft II a year and a half ago, I still don't know why. They never responded to my ban appeal, so my team had to replace me since I couldn't afford to buy another copy at the time (and would never willingly support a system flawed enough to cause this).

I'd prefer my anti-cheat software to let hacking run rampant if that means it won't fire off false-positives that can't be appealed. Ideally it would actually do something to stop cheating too, but that's unlikely unless we trash Battleye and get something that works to some degree. Hopefully the standalone won't use more of this shit.

Nope, they wont help either, so people are forced to create crappy threads hoping to get some useful info. My friend was global banned Tuesday night. He's tried to appeal it with no response. It's a joke they can lock a legit players game..

I have a question. I haven't modified anything to do with DayZ other than what the instructions said to get it to launch (moving the torrent files to dayZ/addons. No edits for graphics, to fix the artifacts, nothing. Am I safe to get the patch or should I just wait. I ask because it seems out of the 100s of outcries, surely a few people must of gotten banned for no reason right?

True true...When your global banned by battle eye it identifies itself as battle eye and says "global ban"

at least when I play that's the message I see about other players....

something like: BattleEye: so and so ........global ban.

So maybe that's the issue here.....all these people have not been global banned and not by battle eye...lol

I was banned yesterday in what seems to be a streak of innocent bannings. I saw other posts about it and decided to take the day off figuring that all would be righted. I decided today I should send them an email. When I tried to log into a server to get my Battleye Ban ID # I was able to connect to a server I normally play on. So it seems I have been unbanned.

note: I had not sent the email to try and get the ban reversed. So it seems they automatically did it.

I was then able to connect to another server. I tried because I wanted to make sure Battleye wasn't just disabled or something on the first server.

Funny thing about that was, I logged in and found a vehicle that doesn't spawn in DayZ. It was a modern day SUV. I drove it to the top of a mountain with some trees and saved it and logged out. lol

I plan on waiting a day or two so I don't get falsely banned again.

This whole situation is kind of silly. Hacks run rampant and EVERY day my friends and I play we encounter hackers who either teleport to us or teleport us to them or send us to the Thunderdome, or just kill us instantly. These things ruin the whole DayZ experience. I understand the limiting nature of the Arma engine and what Battleye can do, but with these things so abundant it really does sour the WHOLE experience. You are either forced to play on low population servers(which you still might run into hacks) OR you must run the higher risk of a higher population server. As I play for the PvP aspect of the game, lower population servers just don't fit my game style.

I have come to accept deaths as part of the game, but I can't help but feel cheated when I die to a hacker. The only thing that makes up for the unfair loss of items is OTHER huge bugs in the game. DUPING! Clans set up camps on servers and just dupe the hell out of items. I happen to know where a few are. So when I lose my items to a hacker(which is 90% of my deaths) I just go to these camps and gear back up.

I know I am part of the problem. Using these camps is game breaking, but I assume some day I'll get bored of that and start re-gearing legitimately whenever I die.

I still enjoy the rush this game gives me when I encounter another hostile player, but I hope in the near future some of these HUGE problems will be fixed.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that I don't get banned again.

I'm not raging, just saying contacting BE wont do any good. They specifically state they DONT want to hear your story. Just give them your ID info and they look up your account, see your banned, and tell you tough chit. I wasn't banned yet so I have no reason to be mad. I've actually considered buying the game again for my friend because he's only 15 and doesn't have any money, and this isn't fair for him at all.... I don't think I can give a company any more of my money though if they're going to ban people without a chance of appeal.

Well its strange because i was banned this morning then i was unbanned went for a nap and left DayZ running while i was in the lobby of a server and the same message came up again saying i was global banned. then i clicked ok went to the main server page and tried going onto another server and the ban was lifted?

How can someone be banned while sitting in a lobby and might i add i was sleeping too >_<

It's possible, but I have to say, it's not going to get you anywhere complaining about it, I don't mean that in the "STFU" kind of way, I mean it as honest advice.

BE on bans : they don't care, they will not respond, they will NEVER lift a ban placed by their system, end of story, they do not have a phone number or address available to contact them on, much like steam they only reply with "canned" responses. So in that area you will get no joy.

From the battleye "support" page :

• No one is banned for using non-hack programs (like Fraps, overlays, etc.), picking up or using hacked in-game items, weapons or vehicles, being on a server at the same time as a cheater, or other passive non-cheating activity. Therefore all requests mentioning these things as possible reasons for the global ban are ignored.
  
• A shared or stolen cd-key is no excuse. It's your own responsibility to ensure that no one else has access to it.
  
• Include your exact (!) global ban ID. The ID is shown in your global ban message ("Global Ban #ID"). If you don't include it your request will be ignored.
  
• Do not tell stories. Whatever you are saying about yourself or your situation won't matter. The only thing that matters is the evidence that is gathered for every global ban issued.
  
• Do not ask for the evidence behind your ban. No details about it will be revealed. Hackers would love to have access to this information.
  
• Do not beg for mercy. If you cheated you will have to live with the consequences. Global bans are permanent and no exceptions will be made.
  
• Questions regarding how exactly to get unbanned will be ignored. No support will be given on how to buy a new game or change your cd-key.
  

On DayZ staff, a couple things lately have shown that the staff here have no care to engage in discussions plaintive or otherwise, and again will not do anything. They don't care what you say, what you think, it is irrelevant to them. To the point where I have been told clearly that they don't "have time" to read or reply to posts. So no joy there.

Where does this leave you ? :

It leaves you in a situation where you have a choice, either re-purchase the game and run the risk of it happening again, or don't purchase it and move to another game.

The "tone" of my post probably indicates which choice I would be making in your position.

+1, I was randomly banned aswell and waited for about 2 weeks and never got a response when I followed what they asked work for word. I finally had to delete my old reg keys and rebuy the game.

It's very possible thats what causing it. I'm going to head home at lunch today and record the whole process.

In that case how comes i couldn't log onto any other server while being banned?
