DayZ is a hardcore game, not fucking carebear WoW. Rocket stated earlier in the upcoming patch thread that 1.6.4 will focus on the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, since, after the break down of society, condoms would become increasingly hard to come by.

Also, the social sensibilities that prevent us from being okay with having various STDs would be lifted in the case of an apocalypse, so after he adds the new 'sexual infections' mechanics in for 1.6.4, you'll simply have to balance the risk vs. reward of engaging in sexual activities with the one female model.
